Chef Jacob Cohen named his restaurant after his mother. His children and all of their cousins call her Mémé; French Moroccan for Grandma. When the Cohen family emigrated from Morocco to Israel, they brought with them their flair for hospitality and good food. Jacob’s menu is influenced by his mother, training in France, time Gotham Bar and Grill, as chef of Fiorello's and Fishin Eddie. Chef Jacob creates a culinary trip around the Mediterranean using fresh ingredients and special spices shipped directly from his mother, who still lives in Israel. Whether for lunch, brunch or dinner, at Mémé you’ll enjoy a wide variety of Mediterranean tapas, Moroccan-style entrees & a full bar, in a warm casual setting.
“We were impressed!! Everything we got was absolutely delicious! We ate everything within a few minutes. The branzino, the chicken, the salad and forgot to take a picture of the hummus. The staff was just as amazing as the food! Cozy and wholesome vibes :) Definitely coming back”
“A Hell’s Kitchen gem! We made reservations, but getting a table mid week wouldn’t be an issue. The menu is the highlight—all well-crafted dishes and options that are hearty and healthy. The vibe is family friendly and intimate, which is great for outings, dates, or special occasions. The chefs here left us with such an amazing impression—from flavorful sauces and spices to the portion-size and presentation, dinner here was phenomenal! We ended with an assortment of Baklava for dessert, and I can’t recommend that enough! A MUST! We can’t wait to come back for future special occasions!”
“Perfect dinner at Mémé! Ryan was a terrific server, and the food and atmosphere were wonderful as always. I've been visiting for over a decade, and Mémé has never disappointed.”
“Food was fine. Not many vegetarian options beyond the shared apps. Resorted to pretty much the only thing on the menu that was vegetarian: the mushroom ravioli. Would return for the great service and cozy atmosphere. We were there past closing time, and the staff was so kind to let us hang and chat as they were having their family meal.”
“Went here for brunch as I was craving shakshouka but I have to say that I was a little disappointed. Serving was generous but the sauce was minimal and not overly tasty. I also didn’t like the pita served with it and would have preferred toast. We also had a share plate of dips and falafel. The falafel was very tasty. The service was satisfactory and I liked being able to sit outdoors. I would recommend it, but I’m not sure I would go again - unless perhaps to try some other dishes , as the food coming out for lunch looked good.”
