Peking Pavilion is a Rooftop Lounge restaurant in the Central Jersey neighborhood of Manalapan Township.
“Great food high quality. Big portions had to take home leftovers. My velvet jumbo shrimp was definitely fresh. I like that they don't use brown soy sauce on everything. My wife had a mini bowl of wonton soup which was enough for 2. The original Mai Thi drink is the undisputed best. ⭐”
“We joked that it was my own fault for ordering a Negroni at a Chinese restaurant - they could definitely work on that one. Mongolian beef, fried rice, gluten free spicy calamari, and the rib appetizer were all highlights. I don’t think we would do the duck again. Overall, very happy and would go back for sure.”
“The best Crab Rangoon I've ever have! 😍 everything was so good! the service is very good as well.. It's on the pricier side when it comes to Chinese food but definitely worth it! Our family of 5 came on a weekend, it's pretty busy but there's no wait time and we got accommodated right away! Everyone enjoyed the food and definitely can share for each serving..”
“High end Chinese food, with more flavor, freshly prepared, and with fantastic service! The service is snappy and friendly. The food comes out very quickly. Everything was delicious, although slightly high in price. The atmosphere is nice. You may not come here every week but it's a great treat once in a while. I got angel hair pasta rice with yellow curry vegetables and pork. I was very happy with my choice. We also got pork soup dumplings for an app which were great. They said it would take 10 minutes to come out and it probably took 8. Also there was no wait at 5:45 on a Friday evening and it looked like they turn over tables very quickly. We will be back!”
“Cando Consultations LLC visited Pekin Pavilion this past Saturday. Unfortunately, the experience fell short. My observations indicate that while the restaurant offers a comfortable setting, the overall experience during this visit did not meet expectations set by itself prior. As a table we ordered the Beef Mongolian, the Imperial Chicken, the Sesame Chicken, the Lo Mein, and the Crab Rangoons. The Beef Mongolian lacked flavor and tasted very flat. Both the Imperial Chicken and the Sesame Chicken were dry and tough. Even though the sauces were different, once we tasted them side by side they were nearly identical. The most enjoyable item ended up being the Crab Rangoons. Even those were imbalanced because the cream cheese was much heavier than the crab, which was almost nonexistent. Customer service was friendly and I would rate it a 6 out of 10 based on interactions and attitude. The timing of the service needs improvement. The appetizer was served with the meals. The check was dropped immediately as dessert was being served, which removed the chance to enjoy the moment. It felt rushed rather than considerate. Small gestures also matter. If you decide to pour a cocktail from a metal shaker tin at the table in an attempt to create a nice presentation, then it would improve the experience to leave the remaining shaker at the table. Not for extra alcohol, but simply to complete the presentation and enhance the feeling of hospitality. Bathroom cleanliness was a 7 out of 10. The restroom was somewhat clean but very difficult to locate, almost like navigating an open maze. Valet service was the strongest part of the night and I would rate it a 9 out of 10 for efficiency and urgency. Text system. Overall, past visits were better. This visit felt underwhelming and disappointing in food quality and the timing of service. We share this review in hopes to encourage Pekin Pavilion, in our opinion, to refocus on delivering the flavorful and reliable dining experiences their locals are accustomed to having. *In adherence to professional standards, Cando Consultations LLC provides this review as an independent analysis of this establishment’s customer experience.
