“We had the best time at Puritan Backroom, and Oscar truly made the whole experience unforgettable. From the moment we sat down, he was attentive, personable, and on top of everything. You can tell he genuinely cares about his customers and takes pride in what he does. Not only was the service flawless, but his energy and friendliness made the night feel special. The drinks especially the mudslides were amazing, and everything came out perfectly. Oscar went above and beyond, and it did not go unnoticed.”

“We stopped in here on a whim today. The restaurant is large. It's a little dated but still pretty. It was bustling on a Friday at lunchtime. The staff was so friendly and our waitress Sarah was super nice. The food was really good. Fast service too. We got a buffalo wrap, a club and corn chowder. There were fresh warm rolls and pita bread on the table, a nice touch. We will be back!”

“First time at the Puritan Backroom. I had tried takeout before but wanted the full experience. Waited about 30 minutes at 4:15 pm on a Saturday but it was organized and was the wait time they gave me. Ordered a mudslide, chicken tender sampler, Greek salad, French onion soup and a pepperoni pizza. Those coconut tenders are a top chicken tender on earth. Everything was great and the service couldn't have been better. Overall a great experience can't wait to come back.”

“Good food but not great. If you’re coming here get the chicken and be okay with waiting We actually tried to go here a few weeks ago on a Saturday night and decided we didn’t want to wait (was told ~45 min wait for two people). Decided we’d try again when we had more time Went on a Friday night at ~7pm and were seated immediately. I got the chicken tenders (half regular half coconut) , boyfriend got the sirloin steak. The chicken tenders were very good. Not “knock your socks off” good but real, fresh big tenders. Not dry at all. The regular fried tenders were what you would expect. I felt they were a little sweet which was odd to me but still good The coconut tenders were good and served with duck sauce. I didn’t like the duck sauce because it just tasted like sugar. I wish there was a savory sauce to dip the coconut tenders in because it was just sweet on sweet. I had leftovers so I am going to try dipping in a soy sauce based dip when I’m home My boyfriend’s sirloin steak was disappointing. Totally unseasoned and a bit overcooked. Not horrible… just bland and dull. Yes there was salt and pepper on the table but…you shouldn’t need that for a good steak. We wished we had just gotten the tenders because the portion was big enough for two hungry people WITH leftovers. I don’t know if I’d rush out to go here again, but if out of towners wanted to go do something for the novelty of the “worlds first chicken tenders!” I’d tag along.”

“We are new to the area and exploring restaurants. We decided to stop here today before running errands. We arrived as soon as they opened as we read that they are usually busy. We were sat quickly and our waitress was lovely. By the time we left about 45 minutes later, there was a large wait. We ordered the chicken tenders as that seems to be the speciality here. My husband ordered the plain version with chowder on the side and I ordered the "spicy" version with a side salad. The chowder was very brothy and lacked flavor, per my husband. My salad was tasty but was drowning in dressing. Overall the chicken tenders were underwhelming. They dont have a crunchy breading and are pretty soggy. The "spicy" variety is just black pepper added to the breading. I had to check my husband's order to make sure I didnt get plain like him. The duck sauce that is served with the tenders is very sweet. We may come back in the future but won't order the tenders again.”
