“Excellent dinner. The halibut did not disappoint”
“I made reservations at Alchemy before our trip to Martha's Vineyard, and I'm very glad I did. As soon as the doors opened, people started coming in, and it quickly became obvious that this is a popular spot. The restaurant itself is fairly small, which gives it a cozy atmosphere but also means tables fill up fast. For dinner, we ordered oysters to start, along with the Wagyu burger and the rigatoni pasta. Everything was excellent, but the standout for me was definitely the rigatoni. Service was quick, friendly, and attentive throughout the evening. My only regret is that we were too full to try dessert. After such a great meal, I'm sure it would have been fantastic, but we'll have to save that for next time. Overall, Alchemy was one of our favorite dining experiences on Martha's Vineyard. Great food and service. We would absolutely return on a future visit.”
“We stopped in for the Bulleit Bourbon dinner and it ended up being one of those nights you don’t forget! Chef Christopher put together a great menu—chargrilled Iberico pork, jumbo shrimp with dirty rice, and a smoked Wagyu brisket that had been going for 30 hours. Everything was spot on and they cooked with the bourbon! Chef Art’s bourbon caramel cheesecake was a standout too—definitely don’t skip dessert. The food, the vibe, the service… it’s why we keep coming back whenever we’re on the island. Jay, the GM, makes you feel right at home, and the whole staff just seems happy to be there. Wish we could give it 10 stars.”
“Came here for dinner with a group of 7 on a Saturday night at 8:30. We were seated in a cozy booth on the first level right next to the entrance/bar. Our drink orders were taken quickly with our food orders following shortly after but the appetizers didn’t hit the table for 45 minutes. Service was sloow and two of us were disappointed to find that they were out of one of the two entree specials. For appetizers we shared the bread service, mixed olives, white bean hummus, tuna tartare, peach caprese salad (which was mostly a regular caprese salad with a few small peaches) and sausage and polenta. For dinner a friend and I split the burger. I enjoyed the appetizers more than the burger and the side of asparagus was laughably small and basically $2 per piece of asparagus.”
“After all the hype about this place from guide books and travel magazines, I can’t believe how bad it was. There was nothing interesting or original in the menu and when I finally chose something the resulting dish was not only underwhelming but just plain blah. I think the pictures speak for themselves.”
