“First time dining in the Design District, and Torno Subito did not disappoint. The interior and exterior were both tastefully done, with perfectly dim lighting, music at just the right volume, and unbelievably friendly staff. The octopus was one of the best I’ve ever had. It was so tender it was hard to believe it was octopus. The cacio e pepe was rich and creamy, with just enough tang to balance the sauce nicely. I also really enjoyed their elevated take on BBQ beef with the Wagyu short ribs. I usually would not choose key lime pie for dessert, but our server described it so well that I decided to take the leap, and I’m glad I did. It was rich, beautifully finished with a dusting of charcoal, and paired perfectly with the sorbet. Overall, I would highly recommend Torno Subito to anyone who enjoys Italian food or simply appreciates a great all-around dining experience.”

“The decor and ambience is delightful. We had the Dolce Vita tasing menu. Hats off to Chef Bernardo Paladini the food was exquisite, plated and coursed perfectly. Our waitress Claudia went out of her way to ensure the best experience, she was absolutely lovely. Even down to the bartender and support staff, all with a smile and so attentive. Don’t miss this gem in the design district!”

“Lovely new addition to design district. Taking over the elastika restaurant that didn’t do well in the Moore Building, this place rocks. Their first miami location in downtown didn’t succeed because of the neighborhood (it’s downtown and this is high end). But here in design district it’s found its home. Feels like a Michelin restaurant, small plates, attentive service, creative dishes. Our server he was excellent. The vibe is wonderful. It’s one of Miami’s rare high end Italian restaurants. I’ll be back!”

“With high standards come really high expectations. We walked in here quite randomly with little knowledge about what this place is. The interior is beautiful, and the live music set a charming ambiance. First glance at the menu, immediately raised some eyebrows because the price point was quite extraordinary. It was quickly explained by the friendly staff that this is a restaurant of, and I quote, “the most famous chef in the world”. This really sets the standard doesn’t it? The wobbly table and flies were not a good start. I’ll just be as objective as possible. I had a waiter with dirt under his fingernails whisper to me that the salad is a “journey across the world with 14 dressings that encompass a trip from Europe to Dubai”. It was 4 huge pieces of wet lettuce with overwhelming basil and lemon flavor profiles, a little oil, and some feta on the bottom, I assume. $24 dollars by the way. The waitress recommended we get the pasta dishes. The tagliatelle looked and tasted like a chef boyardee canned dinner. The artichoke side dish I got for $16 dollars, was, (you guessed it) a single artichoke cut into 3 pieces with undercooked potatoes and green peas in a basil puree of sorts. All that effort to make it appear canned. We saw another table getting sliders served in a takeout box as if we’re in a McDonalds. Perhaps this is the chef’s vision to sell people fast food clones at a premium price. The food was beyond underwhelming for the expectation set and most certainly not worth the money. The bottomless sparkling wine for $45 per person did make the experience bearable though. If this place wins a Michelin star in the current state of the food leaving the kitchen, then I’m Mickey Mouse.”
