“This is our 2nd year coming on our wedding anniversary and they never disappoint! I had the Halibut and my husband had the Manhattan steak, both were amazing. Definitely worth the $$$ on special occasions, very memorable. The chef knows what he’s doing!”
“Casa Bovina never disappoints. We’ve been coming here to celebrate our birthdays and anniversaries since they opened, and every visit feels special. Whether we choose the tasting menu or order à la carte, every dish is beautifully prepared and full of flavor. The service and atmosphere always make the experience even better. Definitely one of our favorite places for special occasions.”
“It's my birthday. Food was excellent. Service was fantastic. Is this the best restaurant in Nebraska? It's right up there, if it isn't. The pasta made in front of you was a unique experience and tasted great.”
“Disappointing experience. Had high expectations as one does for this level Of restaurant. Highlight of our meal were the fresh oysters. Incredibly fresh, clean, fresh grated horseradish and in-house pepper sauce were off the charts amazing!!! Gnocchi and duck dish was too salty, husband steak was nice and prepared correctly, but got cold in moments. Lobster tail was cooked well, but cold in seconds. My duck entree was also well prepared and gorgeous, but again got cold quickly after served. The most disappointing part was the service. For this level of restaurant, you do have the expectation of *very* attentive service, and that was very poor. Our server's timing was just kind of off the whole meal, and she kept saying things like "and this, of course, is our housemade migoinette". Her language was just trying to be so elevated that it came off as condescending. At one point 2 manager attired men walked through the restaurant and didn't even acknowledge that any quests were in the dining room. I am a 20 year seasoned restaurant professional who has worked at several 4&5 Diamond restaurants and this one definitely missed the mark in service specifically. You should feel welcomed and appreciated not like you are an inconvenience. I did ask that my duck be remade, which they did, but it was also only warm for moments. The table tops are made of granite, which is gorgeous, but I'm guessing that it sucks the heat out of the plates so your meal gets cold very quickly. Last thing, this restaurant presents itself as Italian influence, but they don't serve bread?? Strange.... I've purchased their steaks and cooked them at home and they are very good. We also ate at their more casual place downtown and the food was good and service was good too. I truly wish this place success, but there is still work to do, especially on service and execution.”
“My Husband and I went here for dinner on the night of our wedding with both sets of parents and his brother. We were congratulated but pretty neglected throughout the night. We got complimentary prosecco and water but we had to track down the waitress about 30 minutes in to order our own drinks. We repeatedly had long waits with no food and no communication as to when that food was coming. It probably took close to an hour to get our first appetizer as well. We were at the chefs table and watching the kitchen was amazing but my parents and father in law could not see anything and couldn’t turn around because of how packed the space was there. All of the food was amazing. I had seen many pictures of celebratory deserts with beautiful cursive and sparklers but our dessert seemed to just have scribbles and we did not get a sparkler. It was a disappointing experience, especially for the cost, but again the food was some of the best I have ever had so hats off to the chef.”
