“My girlfriend and I had an amazing time at Buckeye Roadhouse last night. The food was delicious and we loved the ambiance of the bar booths. Definitely recommend sitting in the bar room and ordering the oysters bingo! The cherry on top was or wonderful server Marco, he made us feel so special all night while seemingly making a lasting connection with each of his tables. We will definitely be back!”
“A classic steakhouse experience executed to a high standard — reservations are strongly recommended given the demand. Visited with colleagues and opted to share dishes across the table, which proved to be an excellent approach given the quality and variety on offer. | Staff were attentive and perceptive, reading the pace of the table with precision — never intrusive, yet always present when needed | The wine selection was superb, well-curated and perfectly complemented the meal | Every dish ordered was of a consistently high standard | The steak was the centrepiece — cooked with precision, beautifully seasoned and deeply satisfying | The dessert provided a fitting and indulgent conclusion to an outstanding meal The level of service and food quality here reflects a kitchen and front-of-house team that takes genuine pride in the dining experience. For those seeking a refined steakhouse dinner with excellent wine and impeccable service, Buckeye comes highly recommended.”
“Buckeye Roadhouse is one of those classic Mill Valley spots that’s perfect for a drink and a little less perfect for a quiet dinner. The bar is tiny but mighty — great martinis, great energy, and absolutely worth getting there early if you want to snag a seat. It’s easily the best part of the experience. Dinner in the main dining room is where things shift. It’s loud, full of big party tables, and conversation can get tough. Still, the food has its highlights. The onion rings (really more like a mountain of crispy onion strings with a homemade dipping sauce) are a must‑start. The scallops over risotto — a special that night — were fantastic, perfectly cooked and full of flavor. The ribs had great seasoning but were unfortunately more fat and bone than actual meat, which was disappointing for a dish that should be a crowd‑pleaser. Dessert is where Buckeye wins you back. The s’mores pie is the indulgent treat you didn’t know you needed, and the baked lemon pudding leans more toward a lemon cake layered with custard and huckleberry jam — bright, comforting, and memorable. A special shoutout to our waitress, who was an absolute gem. You could tell she was dealing with some less‑than‑kind patrons, yet she stayed warm, patient, and genuinely lovely throughout.”
“The smoked wings were incredible - great balance of smokiness with the vinegar and heat. Our server was attentive and exceptional. Always there when you needed something but never in the way. My skirt steak was oddly sweet, but otherwise well executed. I would get the coconut cream pie again.”
“Charming Spot with Great Vibes and Tasty Food! We stopped by Buckeye Roadhouse without a reservation and were lucky to get a seat in the lounge/bar area — and honestly, it was perfect! The atmosphere is cozy and stylish, with a touch of historic charm. The old building has so much character, and the food was delicious. From the decor to the service, everything felt thoughtfully put together. Even without a table in the main dining room, we had a great experience.”
