Diane's Place is an Asian American restaurant in the Northeast Minneapolis neighborhood of Minneapolis.
“We have been eyeing up Diane’s Place for awhile now so had to pre-order some of their pastries! •Crab Rangoon Danish •Mango Passionfruit Lychee Croissant •Coconut Pandan Croissant •Rhubarb and Vanilla Danish Everything was 10/10 amazing! Dinner also DID NOT disappoint! We ran into a bit of traffic in the way, but the staff was super understanding and accommodating which made our experience that much more enjoyable. •Hmong Sausage w/ Sticky Rice, Over Easy Egg, and Sweet & Sour Sauce •Veggie Egg Rolls •Pan fried Rice Noodles w/ Chicken and since our oldest LOVED the crab rangoon danish she had from there the other day she insisted on having another! So glad to see them expand their space to offer their amazing food to even more! Oh and they just announced tonight they are number 50 in The World’s Best restaurants in the US for 2026!”
“Diane's place is incredibly cozy, upscale, yet approachable. The sour pork short ribs were beyond delicious, I'm talking life changing. The balance of salt, fat, and acid in the flavor profile was like nothing I have ever tasted. I can't wait to go back. Also, the server surprised me at the end with an ice cream to celebrate that we were out without our kids, wishing us a "happy parents' night out". Talk about a surprising and delightful experience!”
“I absolutely love the concept here—Hmong food paired with pastries is such a unique and delicious combination. Everything we tried tasted great, and you can tell there’s a lot of care put into the menu. The final touch of including Hmong embroidery on the tab booklet was adorable! The staff were friendly, the space was clean, and the ambiance felt cozy and intimate. Diane even came out to greet everyone during our visit, which made the experience feel extra special—such a sweet and welcoming person. Just a heads up: it’s usually pretty packed, but there is free street parking available nearby. I’d definitely recommend this spot to family and friends, and I’m excited to see how it grows. It would be amazing if they ever expanded into a bigger space—especially that building across the street with the rooftop!”
“Beautiful pastries, mouth-watering entrees, and exceptional customer service. This is a huge win all around, and no surprise given Chef Diane’s reputation (we actually met her while dining and she is the most kind, confident, friendly person!). We came for brunch and I’ve never felt more seen than when I ordered vegetarian egg rolls at 9:30am. We got two pastries to share, the coconut kouign amann and the mango-passionfruit-lychee croissant, and both were supremely amazing. The food here is clearly created with care, honoring Hmong roots. There is something special happening here, and I hope that many others continue to experience it as well. Thank you 😊”
“I thought this place was great! The service was exceptional 👏, and even though it was under construction, the place was still nice. Parking was a little hard to find, but manageable. The food was great overall. The pork was my favorite. The sauces were excellent, especially the peanut sauce. I didn’t like the garlic croissants; they were too dry for me. The desserts were okay. The sausage bowl was outstanding. The salads were good, and the coconut drink was just okay. I will definitely come back and try other items. We stayed for a long time, and they didn’t rush us out. We ended up getting coffee, which was also great. Very nice service.”
