Ravello Ristorante is an Italian restaurant in the Downtown Montgomery neighborhood of Montgomery.
“Meal was prepared and presented perfectly. Charred octopus was delicious and paired perfectly with the watermelon and arugula salad. Service was friendly and professional if a bit slow (it was a good 20 minutes between being given the dessert menu and being asked what I wanted for dessert). Skip the espresso unless you prefer bitter coffee and don’t expect it to be brought out with sugar. I’ll definitely return next time I’m in Montgomery.”
“We went for Valentine's Day and ordered from the special menu. Our Server, Jazz, was sweet and very knowledgeable about the menu. I had the duck breast and it was crispy and tender with a delicious cherry BBQ sauce. My husband loved his spicy shrimp and gnocchi. The crispy Brussels were a big hit. But star of the meal was the unique dessert. Jazz gave us an excellent recommendation. It was a little adventure! So many different tastes and surprises. Highly recommend!”
“We ate at Ravello Ristorante last night while visiting family in downtown Montgomery, and it ended up being one of the best meals we’ve had in Alabama. It was also our first date night away from our kids, which made the experience even more special. The restaurant is stunning, set inside a 98-year-old former bank with so much character. The textures, décor, and the giant mirror in the center of the room make it feel both elegant and inviting. We sat at the bar and ordered a few appetizers and drinks, which was perfect for a relaxed date night. Our bartender, Zach, was fantastic…knowledgeable, friendly, and attentive without being intrusive. Truly the kind of bartender you hope for on a date night. The head chef, Leo, personally delivered our food, welcomed us, and shared a bit about himself and the restaurant’s background, which was such a thoughtful touch. The GM and entire staff were equally kind and welcoming. The partially open kitchen added to the experience…you can really see the care and teamwork happening behind the scenes. The food was incredible. We had the artichoke hearts with lemon aioli (our favorite), pimento cheese arancini with a spicy tomato jam, and grilled shrimp that were cooked perfectly with butternut squash purée, pepitas, and goat cheese and packed with flavor. Every bite was thoughtful and well-executed. Between the atmosphere, service, and outstanding food, Ravello Ristorante truly stood out. We’re so glad we chose it for our night out and would absolutely return to try the rest of the menu!!”
“An absolutely beautiful and elegant space with high ceilings and chandeliers and a sophistication that went beyond what I was expecting. I had the hearth grilled octopus entree and it was delicious and well-prepared (preparation can be tricky with octopus). It was a generous portion and all the components of the dish came together nicely. My only complaint is that the octopus was not as hot as I would have liked, more like “warm”. But, still, even with that, a wonderful dish and a really nice dining experience in a great environment in downtown Montgomery.”
“My husband and I made a reservation here for 6pm on a Saturday night. We were seated the table closet to the door, so it was really cold because it was a cold night. Then it took over 20 minutes for a waiter to come talk to us (not an exaggeration, watched the time). We ordered meatballs as an appetizer which was $18 for 3, and they came out suspiciously quick after ordering them. Then they were partially undercooked. We both ordered pasta, and the portion sizes were pretty small for what we were paying. I got the cacio e pepe ($20) and it was pretty bland. My husband's rigatoni ($30) was also bland. On the bright side, we ordered a side of brussel sprouts which were delicious! Overall, compared to other Italian restaurants, this place is overpriced, has underwhelming food, and inattentive service. It is a beautiful restaurant though. But I would not recommend it for the cost you pay.”
