“Clancy’s is one of those classic New Orleans restaurants that truly lives up to its reputation—elevated, timeless, and consistently excellent. The food is outstanding, with a menu that highlights refined Creole cuisine and fresh seafood. Every dish feels thoughtfully prepared and full of flavor, striking that perfect balance between traditional and elevated. The atmosphere is warm and intimate, with a true neighborhood feel despite its reputation. It’s upscale, but still comfortable—perfect for a special night out. Service is old school and classy in the best way—attentive, polished, and genuinely welcoming. And the drinks? Properly made and stiff, just how they should be. Overall, a must-visit in New Orleans if you’re looking for a high-quality dining experience with classic hospitality and a touch of that timeless New Orleans charm.”
“Amazing restaurant, food was absolutely spectacular. Service was impeccable, and a charming atmosphere. I dined by myself, so it was a little awkward by myself in the upstairs dining room. If I were to dine again by myself, I would probably choose the bar. Otherwise a perfect evening.”
“We really enjoyed our meal at Clancy’s. The food isn’t flashy or “trendy”, everything is very classic and old fashioned, in the absolute best way. Simple flavors paired with expert technique, and massive portions. Make a reservation. Our one criticism is that the turtle soup was lacking. It tasted more like vegetable or minestrone, and was far less turtle in it that other restaurants we’ve tried.”
“I have wanted to go to Clancy’s for quite awhile. So on a trip to NOLA with my family of 4, we decided to go. The place is nice…. No problem with atmosphere. Our waiter was Doug. He was a very nice guy. My daughter is a waitress and they talked about opening wine, etc. He even came and showed here how to open older or difficult wine with his special wine opener. So the Service was great too!For an appetizer we had the ricotta gnocchi. And it was delicious, warm and creamy! We also had the arugula salad and it was delicious as well For entrees I had the special seafood that was tile fish with crawfish orzo… it was good and fish was fresh tasting… not fishy My husband got the smoked double cut pork chop- it was cooked good but not a lot of flavor. Had a sweet potato puree which was creamy with good flavor. My son got the fried black drum with crab meat and this was probably the favorite! It was Fried well and just had a wonderful flavored sauce My daughter got the risotto lobster and mushroom. It was okay but soooooo much and just needed to be side not a whole meal. We got the butter rum budino for dessert and it was not presented like the picture on the site but we didn’t care because it was absolutely Devine! Overall service was excellent. Food was okay but for price … not sure this will be a place we frequent.”
“Everything about this overhyped restaurant is good- except the food. To the positives: great wine selection, cozy and authentic atmosphere, great decor and ambiance, fantastic attention service. The areas for improvement: better food- and just reasonably sized (smaller) portions. The food was below average and the enormous amount in each plate cheapens it even more, there’s no quality. Everything is heavily fried or creamed, we had a party of almost 20 people and no one could finish their mains. It felt like big portions of bad poorly executed food, and heavy creaming and saucing to disguise the lack of flavour. The bread was the best part of the meal. Also the acoustics are absolutely horrible, it was so loud that I could barely speak with the person sitting right across me.”
