“I went to this restaurant for the first time in all the years it's have lived in New Orleans! I missed out on a treat! My friend had gotten married and held their wedding reception lunch here! I was so glad to have an opportunity to experience this place because I heard good things about it, but never took the time to experience it for myself! Well, never again! I will certainly return for the delicious food, patient and courteous wait staff, and the beautiful decor that this restaurant has to offer! If you are looking for all the good things New Orleans has to offer, you must add this restaurant to your to-do list!! 10 toes down!! One more note, although my pictures show courses that featured meat, they did accommodate someone who was vegetarian. Also, the drinks from the bar.....baby, they do not hold back on the juice!!”

“Absolutely amazing dining experience here. I got seated in the original dining room which is actually the smaller yellow room toward the left side when you walk in. Food was good and reasonably priced. We ordered a lot and the total came to $100 before tip. Got to meet Leah chase’s daughter as well and take a picture. Lovely family! Can’t wait to go back.”

“This place is so classy and beautiful yet colorful and fun all at the same time. Very friendly staff food is fantastic. Highly recommend the beet salad with fried oysters. We also split a seafood platter, which was delicious at every bite. I got one side à la carte fried chicken, and it was delicious.”

“Finally! Found great service paired with great food. It was on our favorite list after watching YouTube videos in our preparation before coming for our first visit. Everything and everyone was amazing. There’s a reason this place is booked. Get here if you can. The gumbo and fried chicken are second to none”

“Visited Dooky Chase restaurant on April 7th around 11:45. Hostess failed to tell me I would NOT receive a text when my table was ready, despite being asked for my phone number and receiving a text telling me I would be notified. I waited an hour for the text while sitting in their parking lot. When I returned, the hostess insisted she called my name. When I advised her that I never received a text, she immediately responds with I told you that you wouldn’t receive a text. I told her that she never said that. She had me sit down in the bar. Then when she called my name, she told me that I actually was not next. I brought up the text again and advised her that the text I received from the restaurant said I would be notified when my table was ready. Her response was I didn’t know that. Not once did she apologize for the confusion. At the end of our meal, she came by and asked us how was everything, I told her the sweet potatoes were cold when they came out (no one checked on us while we were eating). She walked off without saying anything. No one ever came back and we had to flag someone down more than 5 minutes later just to get our check. Not surprising, but when we walked out, the hostess never looked up to tell us to have a good day (restaurant was now closed and no one was waiting). I was waiting for the lady walking around checking on people, so that I could tell her about my experience, but she never came by. This was definitely not worth the wait and a waste of more than 3 hours of my family’s time on our vacation. In terms of the food, the “bowl” of gumbo was serviced in a salad plate (shallow). The sausage had no flavor and the chicken tastes like it was boiled in water, then added to the gumbo. The salad was good (but not why we came to NOLA). The fried chicken was nice and hot when it came out and tasted good. My son loved the Mac n cheese and wanted more (but again, no one came by so that we could actually order more). Overall, this experience left much to be desired and, for the price (and wonderful ambiance) I would have expected a lot more.”
