The Bell is nestled along the charming tree-lined Esplanade Avenue in Bayou St. John. We are a neighborhood restaurant with an "English accent," serving a menu inspired by New Orleans and some of our favorite pubs and restaurants in England. The space is cozy, inviting, and fun. The cocktails are well shaken, the beers are cold, and the Guinness is just right.
“Great spot for casual food and drinks. While the British-pub-style atmosphere gives off the impression they don’t take themselves too seriously, the surprisingly great food really ties the concept together really well. Loved the fish and chips, and they have a great draft selection as well. Highly recommended.”
“Brilliant in every way. The food was stunning, especially the tuna crudo. The French fries perfection and the malt aioli a fun touch. The beers were great, a frozen G&T a fun blend of cultures! Was a wonderful pleasure to also meet the owner, a fantastic host offering a truly quality experience. The decor was notably lovely! I did feel like I was back in London for a few hours today and it was so fun.”
“We sat on the porch and had such a cute date night. Went with a non-seafood lover who loved the steak. The fish mongers pie was the comfort food I was craving. Great vibes, great food, and Carrie (sp?) provided great service. Will definitely be back. And do yourself a favor and get the scotch egg.”
“we saw this restaurant online and noticed they served fish and chips so decided to check it out, the place was a bit small but comfortable and overall service was good. the food was a mix with some good and some average items. we ordered the leek soup to start with and that was good; the shrimp and rice was alright with lots of curry flavor. the fish and chips were average with the fish decent but the chips disappointing. we also got dessert which sticky toffee and it was alright but not really sticky overall great service and comfortable atmosphere with a mixed bag for the food”
“This was such a great experience! My daughter chose The Bell for her birthday dinner. Service was really great, Everyone enjoyed their meals but I did wish I had gone with my first choice of the steak and Guinness pie instead of the steak and chips. I felt like the steak was really bland. I dipped it in the vinegar aioli and it was a little improvement. I’d definitely go back again though! The Pimm’s Cup was delicious! I hope to stop by again when the Christmas tree is lit. Thanks for a lovely evening!”
