Thank you for booking at El Fish marisqueria. The restaurant's menu was inspired by a culinary trip. El Fish Marisqueria's owner and chef Julian Medina took to Mexican city Ensenada. While there, he visited fish and farmer's markets to discover new methods to prepare dishes from the region.
“Great spot for Mexican seafood with a modern Baja twist. I visited last Friday with friends and had a fantastic experience. The hostess was very friendly and accommodating, and the manager, Ariel Lacayo made sure we were well taken care of throughout the night. Their hospitality really stood out. The food was fresh, flavorful, and well-prepared—especially the seafood dishes like all ceviches. Perfect place for a fun, relaxed dinner. I’ll definitely be back.”
“More than a Mexican restaurant, is a great Latin food place on the UWS Totally recommended, can’t go wrong Reasonably priced, good service and delicious food Diners like this restaurant's delicious and innovative seafood and Mexican fusion dishes, with many recommending the grilled oysters, baked clams, and salmon skewers. They also highlight the elegant and comfortable atmosphere, noting it's surprisingly quiet and great for conversation. Guests mention the professional and attentive service, with staff often accommodating special requests.”
“I had an amazing experience at El Fish Marisquería. Everything was truly 10/10. We started with the Tostada Ensenada and the Yucatán marlin fish dip. Both were incredible. Fresh, flavorful, and the perfect way to kick things off. For my main course, I ordered the fideo seco, which came with a generous amount of lobster. It was absolutely delicious and full of flavor. My friend got the brocheta de salmón and she loved it as well. For dessert, we followed the recommendation and ordered the strawberry and raspberry tart, which was the perfect ending to the meal. The staff was welcoming, attentive, and very professional, which made the whole experience even better. We will definitely be coming back :)”
“Absolutely delicious food! The ingredients were fresh and high quality. Flavors with so much depth you couldn't quite remember the entire experience of tasting it, and wanted to keep having more. They could be vibrant and delightfully surprising as well. I wish I knew how they pulled it off, but I didn't think I'd get away with sneaking into the kitchen to watch! The dishes were a treat for the eye as well. The best items we got were the Enchiladas De Camaron, Cob Seafood Caesar, and best of all, the Brochetas De Salmon Kung Pao. The only thing that was disappointing was the Chilaquiles. My party shared everything so we all got to experience more of their cooking. The salmon in the Brochetas De Salmon Kung Pao was perfectly cooked and amazingly fresh. It easily flaked under a fork, the texture was almost creamy. The creamy Mexican rice was good on its own, but came with a caramel-colored sauce with a light zing that made it hard to stop eating it! The Cob Seafood Caesar had a wonderful interplay of flavors and textures. Tomatoes and avocado were so fresh they shone on their own. The gentle vinegar on the tomatoes helped make the flavor pop without overwhelming the tomato. Fun chewy pieces of savory meat. The Enchiladas De Camaron came drenched in a beautiful orange sauce. Perfectly uniform coloration that's hard to achieve at home. The enchiladas were soft with a lovely bite to the (shredded?) shrimp inside. Wonderful depth of flavor. It's like they put all the effort into the food and none into the advertising. This might be the second time I've ever written a review, but the food was so amazing it's a pity no one knows about this place. The outside of the restaurant is nondescript, with a small sign saying "El Fish" far above eye level. You just see the large window with mostly empty tables and an indoor plant inside. The ambiance was wonderful. It was quiet and calm. We could talk easily. Lots of natural sunlight, airy open space, soft tones on the walls.”
“We came here to celebrate my mom’s birthday but imagine the first impression upon entering is to be greeted by someone with a disgusting attitude and zero manners. He pretended not to hear me when I told him I had a reservation and instead of saying “I’m sorry I can’t hear you” he says "huh." It’s clear that I’m not the only person who has felt this way about this individual and you can see other reviews pointing out his horrendous attitude. It's the male manager with the hat that is mentioned in multiple other reviews. I’m surprised he’s still employed, it's incredibly surprising that an individual with such a terrible attitude holds a position where you interact with paying customers. I will echo that the rest of the wait staff was incredibly friendly and I am sorry that they need to work alongside this individual. You can see their discomfort when he is around and I'm sure it is a toxic work environment that should be investigated. The food itself was subpar and though creative lacks flavor. My recommendation is to stay away from this place. We will not be coming back.”
