Established since 1959, El Parador is NYC's oldest operating Mexican restaurant. White stucco walls, wood beamed ceilings, romantic lighting and lively music make our restaurant the ideal spot for a celebration or a romantic evening. Classic dishes and contemporary creations showcase the flavors of Mexico's land and sea offerings. Delicious fresh-juice margaritas, a well-chosen wine list and ice cold refreshments compliment the visit. We cater to a variety of dietary restrictions, when requested, and have been welcoming children since the day we opened. Come and enjoy a NYC tradition that has survived the passing of time by doing nothing else than being delicious and accommodating. Hasta pronto!
“Manuel our waiter was extremely kind and patient as the night progressed and our party had more margaritas 😅 The restaurant has a cozy charm to it, and the food was delicious. The margaritas go down like water and sneak up on you, the mezcal margs are delicious as well. We had the ceviche and queso fundido with steak. I appreciated that the fundito is served with a burner so the cheese doesn’t harden. You could taste the steak flavor in the cheese even on the bites that didn’t have steak in them, very yummy. The ceviche was fresh and flavorful, my only wish is that it came with more plantain chips, but we had plenty of tortilla chips to make up for it. The octopus and sautéed chorizo with onions were the star of the show. We ended up ordering seconds of each. The octopus was so tender and flavorful, truly a wonderful surprise. The chorizo had a little crunch and bursting with flavor without being overly oily. I would absolutely come back, there were many things on the menu we didn’t get to try. If you’re looking for some comfort food and a cozy casual atmosphere this is your place.”
“This is a very quant Spanish restaurant. The food was delicious, I got the chicken mole and rice.”
“Wonderful warm and cozy meal on a super chilly weekend. The chicken mole was unbelievably delicious. My husband had the stuffed lobster tail special, so good. I went for the classic arrow con Pollo, done to perfection with saffron rice that was so flavorful. Service was excellent, tasty margs and ambience just right. We will be back!”
“Fantastic dinner! If you're looking for real Fajitas, this is the place to go. We ordered both the chicken and the beef: generous portions, incredible flavor, and served sizzling hot. The chips and dipping sauces were also excellent (the guacamole was super fresh!), and the Margarita was absolutely delicious – the perfect pairing for the meal. Attentive service and a very nice, clean atmosphere. Highly recommended for anyone who loves quality Tex-Mex cuisine!”
“The food here was delicious. I highly recommend the queso with steak and the street corn. However, the service was rather lacking, not sure if they are under staffed but it took a long while to be given menus, water, have our order taken, etc. However they did redeem themselves because they gave us shots on the house at the end.”
