Flora is an authentic Italian restaurant that offers brunch and dinner, featuring a commitment to using only the finest ingredients and genuine recipes. Our emphasis is on fostering convivial gatherings and presenting exquisite yet simple dishes crafted with a select few, high-quality ingredients sourced directly from Italy. We take pride in our deliberately unconventional wine selection, which places a special focus on the wines of southern Italy's Cilento and Vallo di Diano National Park, the renowned Amalfi Coast, and the neighboring regions of the mountainous and volcanic hinterland known as Lucania. These picturesque areas have a rich history, having been home to the Etruscan, Lucanian, and Roman and Greek peoples.
“I just had the best dinner of my life. I'm not sure what I was expecting, but Flora knocked it out of the park. Everything from the focaccia they brought us in the beginning of our meal to the espresso at the end was absolutely phenomenal. The atmosphere was perfect for a date but also great for a family meal. Our waitress Claudia was the best and she treated us extremely well. The food was extremely unique, delicious and cooked to perfection. Overall, so happy with my experience at Flora and I will definitely be going back soon. It is a wonderful family run business and I cannot recommend this place enough.”
“MICHELIN ITALIAN RESTAURANT🍝 Excellent restaurant experience. This three block stretch of 8th Avenue is a unique stretch of quality Italian restaurants and Flora is a top Michelin choice in this group. The seating both indoor and outdoor is great. The food and pasta dishes are delicious. We enjoyed our dinner and if you come here do not pass up on the grilled octopus. Very pleasant experience and tip is included in your meal. Highly Recommend ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️”
“Through some friends of ours we went to this restaurant last night , and I must say that I have never eaten so good in the 20 years that I have been in New York. The professional chef shes amazing. I saw cooking, she had such attention to the dishes that I was amazed . If you want to eat good food this is the only real place in New York where the food is truly Italian. The only thing I don't like is that I can only give 5 stars while they deserve at least 10.”
“Great food, served with heart. I particularly liked the pasta with octopus ragu. The meat stew had great flavor, but the meat was a bit dry. The dessert was good, and while I appreciate that it's imported from Italy, I prefer something made fresh locally. Very fixed atmosphere, though there is no room between tables; the people next to us were literally listening to our conversation. The prices on the menu include tips, which I like, and it explained why they seemed a bit high.”
“This place looks and feels very high end. We loved the vibe and the service. The food was disappointing, sadly. The focaccia was dry and probably old. We left half of it behind. The pork entree was good but it came with no sides and thus did not feel like a complete meal. The ricotta ravioli was good, the dough a bit too “al dente”. Lemon dessert was the best thing of the meal, and it was only okay. Will probably won’t come back and instead fo to any of the other excellent italian places around”
