After 14 magical years in Fort Greene, No. 7 is now open in Prospect Heights!
“Number 7 is exactly what you need in a relaxed neighborhood joint. No pretentions. Great cocktails and solid wine and beer options. A tasty burger and over-flowing plates of fries. And a long inviting bar with no TVs blaring away. The perfect place for a casual meal or a drink and good conversation. The only downside is it's only open Wednesday through Saturday.”
“I don't write reviews often but I had such a stand-out experience here a couple weeks ago, I have to share. I was in the area with a friend after seeing a local theater performance and wanted to sit down for a nice bite to eat but not be in the middle of a loud bar, and given it was around midnight we were doubtful we could find a spot. We happened to be maybe a block from No.7 restaurant and it was exactly what we were looking for. Everything we ordered was fresh, HOT, and truly so delicious. We got the fried baby artichokes to start, absolutely incredible I wish we ordered two, and I got the broccoli/seitan veggie cheeseburger which was maybe the best veggie burger I've ever had. So flavorful and they don't skimp on toppings (points). My friend got the giant minimal burger and said the blue cheese on the fries was exceptional quality (worth noting as blue cheese can be hit or miss) and the burger was definitely big. And while I'm at it the fries were super crispy shoestring fries, loved those too. We got the grilled pineapple for dessert, which I didn't see anyone mention in the reviews and that is a TRUE SHAME because it was such a unique and delicious yet simple treat. First off the pineapple was ripe, and it had such a tasty charred flavor to it. Man I wish I had some right now writing this review is killing me. As far as drinks, we tried the "if you please" gin cocktail from the menu which is made with Lillet, neither of us knew what Lillet was but went for it anyway. Turns out something about the cocktail had a pretty licorice-y flavor and neither of us were really digging it. We didn't say anything and drank maybe half each, but when our server noticed we didn't finish them before ordering another drink she asked if anything was wrong and if we wanted her to take them off the bill. We said no it's okay, we just tried something new and didn't love it but it was no fault of the bartender's or anything. She wound up taking them off the bill anyway which I really appreciated especially that we already told her it wasn't necessary. I'll be back here for sure”
“If I could give 20 stars I would. Great place to go with friends for top tier food and amazing service. Fantastic tacos, burgers, drinks, and the service is unmatched! Our server, Ellie was awesome, so attentive and helpful! I’m telling everyone about this place!! I can’t wait to come back!”
“This is the epitome of a neighborhood GEM. Nice and cozy inside with welcoming staff, and delicious food. Party of 5, we ordered various burgers, pork chop and broccoli Tacos. Everything was superb, and the fries her are so tasty. They brought over a couple of absolutely scrumptious desserts, the cake by far the best cake I’ve had in a while! Given I live in Arizona, it is a tragedy that I can’t be a regular.”
“Broccoli Taco: order every time I go there, how are tacos made with broccoli?? But they are delicious. Giant minimal cheeseburger: medium cook. Came with French fries. Pickles, wow sour, spicy, sweet bunch of flavor in one slice of pickle. So yeah, No.7 highly recommend”
