The quintessential Parisian Bistro, tucked away in New York's Upper East Side. Originating on 14th Street, Quatorze has become an upper east side institution, with over 39 years of business. Ernest Hemingway once called Paris a moveable feast. We at QUATORZE concur; for the feast is alive and well, here on East 82nd Street.
“One of our favorite restaurants in the neighborhood! We’ve dined at Quatorze 4 times since January (when we first discovered it) and the food and service is consistently spectacular. We’ve dined both at the bar as a couple and with friends and our baby in the restaurant. The staff is very kind and accommodating every time. Don’t miss the bar happy hour, the extensive specials list, the burger, and fantastic martinis.”
“We have been to this beautiful restaurant on east 82 and 1st several times over the years. We recently booked a table to celebrate the birthday of our close friend. We ordered roasted chicken, beef bourguignon, wine and a special dessert for the birthday lady.”
“Located in the UES, this restaurant offers traditional French cuisine with specialties such as Foie Gras and Onion Soup. We also tried the Escargots but were not something to write home about. The Duck Confit was crisp and tasty. The Apple Tarte for dessert was very good. Service was attentive and the ambiance was classic bistro.”
“fantastic burger but they charged $6 for a half sized can of soda, if you’re going to be doing that at least have the decency to carry coke products”
“I really wanted to like Quatorze, but the experience ended up being pretty disappointing. We started with the endive salad, which unfortunately was wilted and unappealing. It didn’t feel fresh, and it wasn’t a great way to start the meal. For the main course, I ordered the sausage with sauerkraut. The dish itself had potential and some of the flavors were good, but it came with a slice of ham—an end piece—that was overcooked and tough to eat. On top of that, there was quite a bit of ham mixed into the sauerkraut, and it also felt overdone, which threw off the balance of the dish. Dessert was a pear with ice cream and chocolate for $19. It wasn’t bad, but it definitely wasn’t worth the price. It was very simple—just a pear, a single scoop of plain vanilla ice cream, and some hot chocolate. Nothing about it stood out. Overall, the experience was just okay until the bill came. Once we saw the pricing compared to the quality, it quickly turned into a disappointing night. For what you pay, you expect much better execution and attention to detail.”
