Affectionately called ‘The Indo’ by our team, we welcome you to join us in our cozy bit of midtown. You’ll find handcrafted cocktails, local beers and friendly wines paired with a creative menu in our snug and stylish space in the Garment District. We’re steps away from Bryant Park, Times Square and the Theater District, making us the perfect pit-stop for a pre-theater bite, post-theater nightcap, lunch meeting, after work drinks and everything in between.
“Food was amazing! Got the theater prefixe menu and it was so phenomenal. Only complaint is part of the pretzel got rock hard not soon after it was brought out (that I added to the prefixe bc I skipped lunch, yes I was hungry!) Otherwise everything was great.”
“We were walking around the area killing time before we checked in to our hotel & decided to stop here based purely on vibes. We were so happy with our experience! I got the burger + draft beer $20 special and my partner got the shrimp tacos & an espresso martini, and everything was delicious! Our bartender, Clive, was also so friendly and kind. I highly recommend this spot to anyone who finds themselves in the area :)”
“The food was great. I got crispy chicken wing with steak frites . The service was really good, the person that served us was very nice. The atmosphere was great, music was playing and a show called i love Lucy was also playing.”
“Wondered in on our first day, in New York. Clive couldn’t be more welcoming “bar is full of bloody English today” we laughed, drank and were well fed. We enjoyed the atmosphere and Irish craic so much we returned 3 times during our week. Highly recommend this lovely bar with great staff. Cheers from Robin Hood land 🍻😂”
“First time visiting The Independent last night and we will be back. Great location for dinner before a show. The staff amazing and attentive. All of the staff constantly observed tables when walking past to take care of patrons. There was no attituded of "that's not my job" or "that's not my station." Great team work! We enjoyed everything we ordered. The espresso fall-tini has great flavor. (Just give it a few more shakes for a better froth on top). The pull-apart brioche..sooo good! The pickle brined chicken was moist and flavorful. Love the fries. My husband enjoyed the shrimp tacos with an order of truffle fries. I also ordered the brussel sprouts. Two things, please offer as a side, b/c the appetizer portion is too big for one person. I also wish they had a bit more of a char on them. But overall we had a great experience and will recommend to our friends who frequent the city. Oh, Sierra is a great waitress!”
