“Moved to the neighborhood and came here for a trivia night. Highly recommend the soft pretzels, if anything. So good. The steak was overdone for my liking, but still decent. The trivia was fun and even though it was super loud, we could easily hear the host. It was fun! Again though, those pretzels. Yum.”
“Came here for a quick bite and a drink. This place did not disappoint. The hot honey chicken sandwich and truffle fries were delicious. I also ordered a margarita which was just as good. Atmosphere was pretty live for a Thursday night. My friend ordered the double smash burger with an espresso martini which she said was also good. Thursdays their wings are $1, will have to come back to try them.”
“A very pleasant dining experience at the The Wolfe. Solid upscale pub fare highlighted by an absolutely decadent Butter toffee cake”
“I was super excited to see vegetarian French onion soup on the menu but in all honesty I wish I skipped it. Perfect spot for a happy hour meet up with apps. Great martini happy meal deal that included old bay fries. Truly amazing service! All food and drink came out promptly and cleared the second we were cleaning off the plate. We also weren’t rushed out at all which is hard to find these days!!”
“We’re locals on the Upper West Side and have come here a few times, which is exactly why this experience stung on a particular Monday… Came in for the happy hour martini + fries special ($18) and when our bartender, Jess, asked which fries we wanted- “regular, old bay, OR truffle fries”, it was presented as a straightforward choice with no mention of an up-charge, and so we both said truffle. No hesitation from Jess, no “heads up”, or “that’s extra,” nothing. When the bill came with an unexpected up-charge, we brought it up with Jess, and she said it was on the menu. We looked. No where on the HH menu does it list a truffle up-charge. (Photo attached.) Manager, Sarah, came over and unfortunately things went downhill fast. Instead of hearing us out, she came in defensive, suggesting it was about the money, and even said “at most restaurants truffle isn’t always included”, which, okay, fair point in a vacuum, but that’s exactly why your staff should be communicating it clearly before the order. We were never given the chance to make an informed choice. We kept saying it wasn’t about the money, but about the way it was misleadingly communicated. That point never landed with Sarah. Food and drinks were honestly good, and we’ve had great experiences here before, but being made to feel like we were causing a scene for flagging a legitimate transparency issue, left a sour taste. Hire and train staff that’s honest and forthcoming. In the end, after much unwarranted pushback, Sarah adjusted our bill.”
