This neighborhood bar-restaurant opened up the well know space that used to be home to Henrys Restaurant. The décor is calm and chic. Textured walls, dimly lit chandelier’s, natural wood table tops & a curved leather banquette seating create a unique and intimate setting. The Straus Room a new addition to the space, is quite and comfortable and ideal for your next dinner outting or party. Executive Chef John J. Loughran, of Banc Cafe, has created a menu that changes seasonally. Using the best of locally sourced ingredients, Chef John’s philosophy is to buy local and be creative. This is evident in every dish you taste. Our cocktail program uses fresh fruit and other natural ingredients. The Straus Room provides an intimate space to host private events. Our outdoor café provides the largest terrace dining on the Upper Westside and is open year-round, weather permitting. We feel that tasty food & flavorful drinks provided with honest friendly service at an affordable price is a great way to win someone over. We hope that someone is you. Enjoy!
“My wife and I visited on our day off and had a very pleasant experience. Since it was a late lunch on a weekday, the restaurant was relatively quiet, which allowed us to enjoy our meal in a relaxed atmosphere. Our server was friendly and attentive, and we enjoyed most of the dishes we ordered. The overall experience was comfortable and enjoyable. If the opportunity arises, I would be happy to visit again”
“Delightful Tea for Two! A dear friend and I met here for afternoon tea. The tea sandwiches were all delicious and fresh. We got cornbread and fig butter on the side which did NOT disappoint! Service was very attentive and the decor/design of the space is beautiful. Will absolutely be back!”
“We come here often, and it never disappoints. The food is amazing, the service is fantastic. The restaurant is spacious and welcoming. We’re never hurried thru our meals. There’s a bar area, outdoor seating and large inside dining areas. Tables are well spaced, lots of room for accessibility♿️ They have a great menu - this time we had “snacks” - cauliflower, calamari and guacamole. Lots of healthy options. They also had some very pretty drinks. Make sure you check out the delightful little drink menu/booklet! Meter street parking.”
“Went with a small group and really enjoyed the food and cocktails. Fun atmosphere was nice. Good vibe.”
“Made reservations for brunch, but wasn't needed. The place was rather quiet on Sat, but it was also freezing outside. Got a cozy window seating and loved the ambiance thanks to their floral interiors along with holiday ligthing right next to our table. Noise levels on the quiet side and easy to have conversations. They have a decent kids menu, and the Chicken Fingers ($10) were perfect for our little one. Huevos Rancheros ($19), and Vegetarian Omelette ($19) which was served with home fries and tossed salad was a good portion. Kimbo Coffee ($4.25) was actually pretty good although would've loved it to be warmer. Refills were slow to come. Food was inline with our expectations. Food arrived within 8-10 mins of placing our order, so yeah, really quick! Our initial server/waiter wasn't that attentive but their crew members were definitely more alert. Overall, pretty decent experience.”
