“Wonderful place, gorgeous views, family entertainment, delicious food at restaurant for dinner and breakfast. There is also a fun BZ BAR/ music spot on the grounds that serves delicious sandwiches. You won’t be disappointed! We just wish it were closer to NORTH CAROLINA!”
“The food was excellent, although we did wait for a very long time to finally get our dinner. Beautiful property and gorgeous views.”
“Great dinner. Calamari is awesome. Nice seasoning. Blueberry sour was fantastic. Tuna was good. Bololnase pretty tasty. Nice job by staff. One server killing it on a Wednesday.”
“Had a lovely dinner at the restaurant at Shore Acres. Everyone from the darling hostess Mattie to the fabulous Fiona our server , were wonderful. All of our meals were outstanding. I had the halibut and three of our party had the apple island chicken .Beautiful views and comfortable modern interior. Love returning several times a year.”
“Update 5/1/26: The Management at Shore Acres decided to refund the $35 cancelation fee they charged us (see below). I'm not sure if they're changing their policy about refunds after cancellation, but it would be best to ask when making a reservation. Original Post: I felt I should warn others about the danger of canceling your reservation at Shore Acres. We have been back to Shore Acres several times in the past few years and we honestly thought the people there were different and more guest-focused. My latest interaction with them tells me they're just like many other businesses who are interested only in your money. We made a reservation for April 20th (my wife's birthday) for the large room since my wife really loves the restaurant and wanted that as her birthday present. Apparently, this was the first reservation available for the season but, unknown to us at the time we made the reservation, the restaurant wasn't going to be open for our visit. Shore Acres notified us 10 days before our visit that the restaurant wouldn't be available on the night we were staying -- the whole reason we wanted to go. Anyway, because of our kids'/grandkids' hectic schedule we were unable to plan another date right away. My wife and I both corresponded with the General Manager who was insistent that we couldn't get all our money back (credit card) because it wasn't at least 21 days before our visit. I spoke on the phone with the General Manager and she was adamant about the cancelation fee, even though nobody informed us the restaurant wouldn't be open UNTIL WE WERE PAST THE CANCELATION/REFUND DATE. If Shore Acres thought it was important enough to contact my wife 10 days before about the restaurant not being available, why didn't they contact us after we first made the reservation when we could have gotten a full refund? Secondly, after asking that an exception be made for a refund because of the unusual circumstances, I was told rather coldly "this IS a business", meaning for doing absolutely nothing they wanted to keep some of our money. The General Manager reluctantly agreed to charge us 'just' $35 instead of the full penalty for canceling the reservation. (Were people were beating down the door for that room on the very first day of the season? I don't think so.) I told her I wasn't happy about it, but if that's all they can do I'd have to accept it. Well, I hope they make good use of our $35 since we won't sure don't feel valued any longer as customers (or just people!) and we won't be back. I'll never understand how supposed 'business people' don't put the highest value on their most important resource: repeat customers/guests. Unfortunately, we will no longer be among them.”
