“Wonderful staff. Waited nearly two hours for the next ferry and had a great time enjoying the pub. Thanks Orlando & team! Appetizers and chowder were lovely. 3min walk from the ferry dock (as well as golf cart rentals).”
“My wife and I stayed here for two nights in early August and had lunch here one of the days. We stayed in the ram Island suite which included a king bed, living room, refrigerator, back patio area, as well as a balcony that overlooked the main hill leading down to the ferry. We were very pleased with the suite as a whole. We did not bump into or interact with any of the other guests that were staying at the Inn, which speaks on the quietness of the inn itself. There is no front desk for the inn itself, so all questions have to be addressed to the restaurant staff if you have them or call the number listed in the room. The location of the Inn could not be any better. It is just up the hill after getting off the ferry that is required to get to the island. It is a $14 round-trip from Portland to the island and back. The ferry takes about 15 minutes and honestly is a great view of Casco Bay and the surrounding area. We had lunch at a rather busy time and had no complaints similar to some of the other reviews on here. We had the burger, fish tacos, french fries and beers. Staff was friendly and service was quick. All the surrounding tables seem to have timely service as well. There are a limited number of restaurants on the island and this is a great option.”
“Came here for a group lobster bake with a ships tour group. I guess the whole show was the lobster lunch which was actually quite superb withe mussels, corn, potato, lemonade and a sliver of dessert. But the staffing was short and although we sat next to a bar and I asked for a beer, the staff were too busy to serve me. Kinda weird, the idea was to get us in and get us out. Disappointing as there isn't much of anything else in the area as you wait for the next ferry to get back to Portland.”
“So. Airport food is definitely upgraded with Shipyard as an option! The Bloody Marys were top rate and our food; the BBQ Sandwich and Smasburger, both with crispy, delicious fries, were outstanding! “Angela” was a super representative (we dined at 10:15 AM on 12/30/25), so much so that I want to recommend she be assigned to manage the Shipyard at The Inn on Peaks. It desperately needs someone with more than a pulse running it! She stated she had managerial experience; I say, please send Angela over! We summer there and it is abysmal that The Inn on Peaks doesn't have a better restaurant! Thank you for the consideration!”
“We came for dinner as there were no other places on the island that were open for service. The restaurant is adorable, people were pleasant, but the food was awful. We had the chowder, chicken sandwich and fish tacos. The chowder was salty and tasteless. The fish taco combination was off- avocado mash with fried fish? And the chicken sandwich had the same sauce as the fish tacos. Just odd. The coleslaw was also not edible as it had a sour taste. I warned my husband not to eat his. Overall, disappointing and extremely expensive. With the few items we had and no drinks beyond water and lemonade, our bill was more than any dinner we’ve had during our stay (including great restaurants in Portland). We are a family of five (all over the age of 16).”
