“We had a wonderful brunch at The Causeway! Everything super fresh and delicious. The restaurant overlooking the water was beautiful even on a foggy day in April.”

“One of our favorite meals in Maine. Do not miss it! Lovely ambiance. Great service. Remarkable food. I had the fresh halibut special, which was incredible. Another got the short ribs, and two had the crab stuffed haddock. Everything was delicious!! Even the kids' Mac and cheese was yummy - we all ate it. The cocktails were great. We took a walk down to the jetty after dinner. Such a perfect evening! Would make it a point to go again if we're ever in Maine!”

“The Causeway Restaurant is part of the Craignair Inn in Sprucehead / St. George, Maine. The restaurant looks over Clark Island, with coastal vistas being the primary view from the dining room. There's a wonderful outside deck to eat on, as well as games, fire pits, artwork for sale-- the place is absolutely charming and exactly what one pictures of a quaint seaside restaurant that's totally on point. Make sure that you have the "build your own bloody Mary" and maybe try it with the bacon, shrimp, and oyster additions. For my meal I had the eggs benedict with salmon, which was generally quite tasty. They take their time here and it's a wonderful experience! Will absolutely go back many times.”

“It was our trifecta: father's day, my wife's birthday, and our 46th anniversary. Unfortunately it was disappointing do to the bright sunshine and heat. We asked prior to seating if we could have a 2 top in the shape and were told unequivocally no. No effort was even considered to mitigate our concerns. Although being fully booked there were several empty tables when we arrived, and we're still empty when we left. We were dripping in sweat when we left. I recognize you cant control weather issues, but the deck truly needs some effort at shading. Regarding the food, my wife's fish sandwich was fine. I ordered the Benedict with gravlox. The Benedict was fine, but the smoked salmon was not gravlox as there was no dill at all. Also the salmon was from the trimmings and not the slices from the loin that I would expect from this caliber eatery. . So, disappointing and hence to low ratings.”

“Went for a brunch last summer and the owner was there, the food was pretty good. Took a friend last weekend for dinner. A friend warned the service has gone down hill but I rolled the dice. NEVER AGAIN. Adorable place but horrible food (raw lamb anyone?) non existent service from the one server we saw who forced us to order our whole meal upon arrival and never checked back in until we went to fetch her because our food was uncooked in the middle, she returned with the same sides, now cold, and the recooked food and offered a free dessert (they USED to have nice pasties, what happened? Which was also not good thankful we didnt pay for it! Sad, because I love this spot, but I wont be back”
