Giulia : Market is an Italian restaurant in the Ottawa neighborhood of Ottawa.
“We were there for the chef's table. It was our second time at the chef's table because the first time was so enjoyable. The food was outstanding and the wine pairings were excellent! The chef and staff are incredibly friendly and knowledgeable. I'll definitely be going again!”
“Had a wonderful experience with my friend for a dinner. My fettuccine verde was delicious and my friend enjoyed his pizza (see photo). The mocktail was also delicious. Very good service.”
“Me and my co-worker went there and it was a great experience overall! Food was great we had 2 pizza and sourdough bread with ricotta cheese and tiramisu and it was all good portions. our server was very sweet and friendly, the lady with the blue flower hair clip (don't know her name) the ambiance was lovely with all the decorations on the wall and ofc the disco ball! If I come back to Ottawa would definitely go there again”
“IMO This is a solid 4/5 restaurant. This place is just as cozy in person as it looks in the photos. The washroom is clean and aesthetic if you’re looking to take some mirror photos. It is pretty loud and busy, making it hard to hear people sitting across from you, but that is to be expected when dining in at 8pm on a Friday. The pizza is good but honestly is not my favourite I’ve had in Ottawa. I went with the margarita pizza which was just a bit too saucy for me but others might prefer this type of pizza. The dough is thin and New York style but I felt like it was a bit too thin and missing some crunch. The pesto pasta was my favourite. It was al dente , salty, and a great basil flavour, I would rate the pasta 5/5. As mentioned in other reviews, the portions do feel a little small. After eating both dishes I was satisfied but not stuffed and definitely could have eaten more. These are good portions if you’re looking to treat yourself when dieting or looking for a cute date spot. We had a little hiccup with the service since they originally brought me the wrong dish (a lamb pasta also included in the photos). I did not try it , but it smelled good. I told the waiter that this was the wrong order and he was very quick to apologize and bring me back the right pasta in a timely manner. Our waiter was also very friendly throughout my dining experience so I wouldn’t flag him for the original mistake. I would come back to this place if I was in the area and grab a pasta or try a different pizza, if I wasn’t too hungry. This place was a good experience but others might view this as a 5/5 overall depending on their taste.”
“Giulia is a visually beautiful restaurant with a warm, inviting atmosphere that immediately sets high expectations. The space itself is one of its strongest assets, elegant without feeling overly formal, and very well suited for a relaxed dinner out. That said, the overall experience was mixed. Service was polite but noticeably slow, and we were left sitting with dirty plates on the table for most of the meal, which detracted from what could have been a much smoother dining experience. Another small but disappointing detail was the wine service. The glasses provided were not proper wine glasses, which personally took away from the enjoyment of the drink and felt out of step with the restaurant’s otherwise refined aesthetic. The food varied significantly by dish. The calamari was underwhelming, consisting mostly of salad and fried lemons with very little actual calamari. The ricotta toast was also a miss. It was very burnt and difficult to cut, making it more frustrating than enjoyable. In contrast, the pasta and pizza were excellent. Both were well-executed, flavourful, and clearly the highlights of the meal, showcasing what Giulia does best. On a positive note, the restaurant is relatively inexpensive for the quality of its main dishes and for the ambiance it offers, which makes it accessible and appealing for repeat visits. Overall, Giulia shines in atmosphere and delivers strong pasta and pizza, but inconsistencies in service and some of the starters held the experience back. With more attentive service and better execution on smaller dishes, it could easily live up to its beautiful setting.”
