“We hosted a dinner for 20 guests at Bar Hygge following a micro wedding at the gazebo at the Waterworks in Fairmount Park, and the entire experience was excellent from start to finish. The staff was warm, cordial, and extremely accommodating. They handled a large group with ease and graciously allowed us to bring in a small wedding cake from Isgro’s Bakery in South Philadelphia, 😋 which we really appreciated. Service throughout the evening was attentive without ever feeling intrusive. The restaurant itself was very comfortable—welcoming, relaxed, and refreshingly free of loud, distracting music, which made it perfect for conversation and celebration. Most importantly, the food was absolutely delicious with generous portions, and everything came out well-paced for a group of our size. The team truly went above and beyond to make the evening feel special and seamless. Overall, it was a wonderful setting for a post-wedding celebration, and we would gladly return!”
“Went to Bar Hygge in the Fairmount area of Philadelphia for breakfast/brunch and would definitely recommend it. The place has a really cool atmosphere- modern but still cozy, which fits the whole “hygge” concept they’re going for. For anyone who doesn’t know, “hygge” is a Danish term centered around comfort, warmth, and enjoying the moment, and the restaurant honestly captures that vibe really well. One of the biggest reasons I want to come back is because they brew their own beer in-house through Brewery Techne. Philly has a strong craft beer scene, and Bar Hygge has become a pretty well-known local spot for both food and beer lovers because of that. I didn’t get to try the beers this time since we came for brunch, but it definitely gave me a reason to come back for dinner or drinks. For the table, we ordered the Cinnamon and Sugar French Toast, and it was really good- came out warm, soft, and loaded with cinnamon flavor. For my meal, I got the Eggs Benedict with poached eggs, pork roll, braised collard greens, hollandaise, buttermilk biscuit, and hygge home fries. Everything worked really well together and felt like a quality brunch dish rather than something basic thrown on a menu. The restaurant also has plenty of seating both indoors and outdoors, which is nice since the area can get busy on weekends. Service was great too-the waitresses were super friendly and attentive throughout the meal. Overall, it’s a really solid brunch spot with good food, good vibes, and a unique brewery aspect that helps it stand out from other places in the city. Definitely recommend checking it out if you’re in the Fairmount area.”
“I took my girlfriend here before a concert this past weekend and we had a wonderful time! The servers were wonderful. They were all so kind and friendly & everything came out very promptly. We also really liked that the bathrooms were fully stocked with hygiene products. We had the ricotta toast, the cheese curds, the Manchurian cauliflower, and a glass of the Adaptation rosé-inspired beer. Everything was excellent. Our favorite was the cheese curds, especially with their delicious spicy ranch! We would absolutely come here again & would recommend if you’re looking for a cozy spot for great food.”
“I checked out Bar Hygge in Fairmount, PA, and it completely lived up to the hype. From the moment you walk in, the place just feels right. The space is beautifully put together with a mix of furniture from all over that somehow fits perfectly, creating a warm, cozy, and stylish atmosphere. The decor is incredible, and the whole place has an effortless vibe that makes you want to settle in and hang out for a while with friends. The staff was excellent and the service was fast and on point without ever feeling rushed. Everyone was friendly, attentive, and clearly knew what they were doing, which added to how relaxed the experience felt. As for the food, I had their burger, and it was outstanding. Easily one of the best burgers I’ve ever had. It was packed with flavor, had a great smoky element, and was cooked perfectly. This is absolutely a burger worth going out of your way to try, especially paired with the atmosphere that comes with it. Overall, Bar Hygge is more than just a restaurant. It is a full on vibe. A perfect spot to grab great food, enjoy excellent service, and spend a few hours catching up with friends in a space that feels both unique and welcoming.”
“I Stopped By After Work On A Tuesday For Happy Hour. Overall Pretty Good Experience. They Have A Nice Open Space & When I Came In Around 4:50pm There Weren’t Many People So Service Was Really Fast. From The Happy Hour Menu I Got The Lavender Lemonade With Vodka (apparently it’s the same thing as the punch but the lemonade is the alcohol free version). I Also Ordered 6 Of The $2 Oysters. Aside From That I Got The Salmon Ceviche, 1 Barbecued Oyster, 1 Roasted Oyster, & A Mango Mint Sangria. Everything I Ordered Was Pretty Good. Would Like To Add That Music Selection Was Surprisingly Good Very Nice Variety Throwback R&B, Pop Hits, & Spanish Hits. The Only Thing I Don’t Like Is That My Server/Bartender Walked Away From Me Mid Sentence When I Was About To Order The Sangria To Greet People Who Were Just Arriving. I Understand You Have To Greet But I Felt A Bit Disrespected The Way It Happened.”
