Rustic, southern Italian cuisine by Chefs Joe and Angela Cicala, served in an elegant setting, located inside the historic Divine Lorraine Hotel.
“From the time I entered the restaurant I knew my night would be perfect. I made reservations for two with my best friend who was attending a concert with me at The Met. Peter greeted us at the door with a warm welcome and escorted us personally to our table. WE were able to enjoy the street view which is optimal for me to people watch while I enjoy wine and dinner. Our waiter Josh greeted us promptly after sitting and started us of with drinks and the list of the daily special. Note their menu is seasonal so the items we had may not be available during your season of dining. Our food was delicious and served promptly. A pear gorgonzola salad, pappardelle pasta, branzino main course, and to top it off the carrot cake dessert. I cannot to return to an atmosphere that was so welcoming. Thank you thank you thank you to the staff for being one of the best parts of our night.”
“We just left Cicala, and it was a wonderful experience. The atmosphere was incredible. Honestly one of the best interior designs I’ve seen in an Italian restaurant, and probably the best in Philadelphia. There was a gentleman named Peter at the front who took great care of us. Since we had our baby with us, he was especially attentive and thoughtful throughout the night, which we really appreciated. We started with the arugula salad, and it was one of the best arugula salads I’ve had. Then we ordered a crab and tomato pasta — I can’t remember the exact name — and it was very good, although slightly under-seasoned for my taste. After that, we had the slow-cooked short rib. The presentation and overall dish were beautiful, but for me personally, the meat was a little too cooked. If you don’t prefer very well-cooked meat, I’d recommend mentioning that beforehand. Overall, I felt the salt levels in some dishes were a bit low, but it was still an excellent dining experience. Special thanks again to Peter for his hospitality. I definitely recommend Cicala.”
“Wonderful experience! The waitstaff and manager are warm, kind, knowledgeable, and attentive. Peter (manager) is truly the best! The food (from appetizers through dessert) and drinks were wonderful and the ambiance was perfect for a Saturday night. Will absolutely be back!”
“Cicala isn’t like other restaurants around the city. There is a vibe, a feel of authenticity when you step into their space. The food is real and good food will get you far but good people will get you further and that’s what Cicala is all about. Peter makes you feel at home and he genuinely wants you to enjoy your experience from your first drink to your last bite of dessert. He is a one-of-a-kind and creates an environment in the restaurant that I’ve never experienced before. I know every time I go to Cicala i’m guaranteed to have a great meal and a cultural experience that’s why I keep coming back”
“Every meal at Cicala is spectacular. Starting with drinks at the bar, to brunch, the incredible pastas for dinner, and the amazing desserts - always fabulous. They even have special events we’ve had a chance to attend. Service is warm and inviting. We’ve never had trouble finding street parking within a block. Cannot wait to go back!”
