City Winery - Pittsburgh is a Contemporary American restaurant in the Pittsburgh neighborhood of Pittsburgh.
“An intimate venue for dinner and a show. I attended the Nicotine Dolls show on May 17th and everything from the acoustics to lighting and stage setup made for an exceptional listening and viewing experience. The menu was delicious as well.”
“Great vibes for the jazz concert. Cozy, intimate setting. Food and drinks tasted great, especially the fig - goat cheese dip. Service was fine for an event like that.”
“Tried City Winery for the first time. We ended up here because everywhere else was packed, and luckily this spot wasn’t. There wasn’t an event going on that night, so it was pretty calm. The menu was limited and honestly a bit pricey for the type of place and portion sizes. The craziest part was that our entrées came out before our appetizer (just fries). It took so long for the fries that we had already finished our meals by the time they finally came out. Overall, I’d say it was just okay. I’m not sure I’d come back just for dinner, but maybe I’d give it another try during an event to see if the vibe makes more of a difference.”
“The Rahum Davagh concert was absolutely amazing! The vibe was definitely on point, the acoustics were top tier, and the performance was very entertaining. I truly enjoyed the show. We were seated fairly close to the stage, which was great, but the tables are way too close together. It was a very tight squeeze with little elbow room and not much space to walk between tables. Unfortunately, our waitress seemed overstimulated or overwhelmed. She forgot to take my husband’s order, as well as the order for another couple seated at our table. The biggest disappointment was the restrooms—they were atrocious and completely unacceptable. They clearly had not been cleaned between shows, which is not okay for a venue of this caliber. On a positive note, the food and wine were very good. I had the grilled chicken, apple, and brie sandwich, and it was excellent. Overall, great concert and atmosphere, but the restroom conditions really need serious improvement.”
“Avoid this restaurant. They make mistakes constantly on togo orders. On day one, I had ordered a bread pudding and paying for it. After waiting 30 minutes for it, they decide to come out and tell me that they are out of bread pudding. It would’ve been beneficial to know that prior to paying, however, they did not even offer a refund. Instead, they told me they would give me a tiramisu instead. On day two, I placed an order for a salad with a chicken skewer upcharge. Upon getting my order and opening the container, I saw that the skewer was not in there despite being charged $10 for it. The other items here at the restaurant were not good, and I do not recommend this as they don’t want to make good quality food. Lobster ravioli is pretty dry and tough to chew. Tiramisu is missing that earthy coffee flavor. Chicken caprese says that it comes with fresh mozzarella, however, they only gave us small circle of cheese on one side of the sandwich (covers about 1/4 of the sandwich). Do not get the truffle fries, they are the exact same taste as the normal fries. Last, the crab and shrimp dip is highly inconsistent. The first day, it was good and actually had pieces of shrimp. The second day, zero shrimp. In the end, this restaurant has several deficiencies that they do not seem willing to resolve.”
