Bridges and Bourbon

“I hadn't been to Pittsburgh in years and this was near my hotel. The whiskey selection was excellent and I enjoyed watching the bartenders make crazy-looking cocktails. I got the smashburger with pretzel bun and fresh but fries. I was really surprised with how good they both were. I'll be back!”

“Loved this spot! They were super friendly. The interiors were modern and plush. We ordered dessert and drinks. The chocolate mousse was amazing! The madiera cake was good with lemon cream and got the fig gin drink which was so so good! Loved the rosemary that they burned over it so the aroma kept releasing. Wish i had gotten another!”

“Great Cocktails, Forgettable Food in Downtown Pittsburgh Booked Bourbon & Bridges through Resy for a solo dinner and was happy to put my Amex Resy credits to use. Conveniently located right across from the Courtyard downtown where I usually stay on business trips, it sits on a lively strip of bars and restaurants that makes for an easy evening stop. The space itself has a great atmosphere — stylish décor with an impressive display of spirits behind the bar that immediately sets the tone for a cocktail-focused experience. The drink menu is extensive, with plenty of creative options. I ordered the Renegade — made with gin, peach nectar, passionfruit liqueur, lemon juice, simple syrup, and blueberry boba pearls — and it was excellent. Refreshing, balanced, and fun without being overly sweet. Food was more mixed. The grilled chicken sandwich, served on a pretzel bun with chipotle aioli and toppings, was unfortunately pretty bland and forgettable. The Brussels sprouts were much better — nicely pan-fried with great flavor, although slightly sweeter than I would have preferred. Overall, Bourbon & Bridges is worth visiting for the drinks and atmosphere more than the food. I’d absolutely come back to work through more of the cocktail menu.”

“Overall, if you’re in the area and love cocktails and specialty whiskey’s and bourbons, this is the place for you! The atmosphere is laid back while sophisticated at the same time. Also romantic at night and perfect for a date night! The pork belly appetizer is to die for!!! So delicious! The butternut squash soup was also really amazing (texture and flavor) but needed some salt. The waitress brought the salt out and that took the soup to the next level! The salmon dish was also very delicious but the kale underneath was overcooked. The service was phenomenal. We didn't feel rushed at all even though it was a Saturday night and we figured they were booked for reservations. Would come here again!”

“Not quite what we expected by the name and the online pictures, I think we expected to see the bridges!! It's a small intimate bar and eatery in an odd location for being upscale. The homeless folks passing by looking and standing in the open windows was a little bit unnerving since we were in one of the window seats! Our server was attentive but lacked any recommendations other than happy hour and even seemed a little offput when we asked questions. We ended up just going with the old fashioned, which was pretty standard, and the shrimp. The shrimp was gross! Frozen shrimp, taken out of the freezer, dropped in boiling water for far too long, drizzled with a minimal amount of butter and served room temp. They still had the water scum on them! Not one of the better experiences we had in Pittsburgh, too many great places for this one to be recommended. Sorry!”
