Joon Bar and Kitchen Provincetown is a New American restaurant in the Provincetown neighborhood of Provincetown.
“Joon is seriously such a gem in Provincetown. We actually tried to get in on a Friday night and couldn’t—completely booked—so definitely make a reservation if you can. Luckily, we were able to grab seats at the bar the next day, and I’m so glad we did. Everything about this place is incredible: the vibe, the food, and the hospitality. Andrey, the owner, is incredibly warm and welcoming. She has Iranian roots (same as my husband), it was especially fun to see those influences woven throughout the menu. We started with the oysters, which were fresh and delicious, followed by the duck sliders—an absolute must-order. Then came the kebab, and when my husband, who is from Tehran, said, “This tastes like home,” I knew they had nailed it. You’ll find lots of Iranian touches throughout the menu—saffron, turmeric, and other familiar flavors—blended together in a creative, modern way. We also shared the seafood in broth, which was outstanding. The broth was so good that my husband was literally drinking it straight from the bowl by the end of the meal. For dessert, we finished with a cookie and the saffron ice cream, which was absolutely to die for. We’ll definitely be back. Joon was easily one of the highlights of our Provincetown trip, and I can’t recommend it enough.”
“One of the best restaurants in Provincetown. The menu may be edited, but each dish is sophisticated and well executed. The chef has a talent with duck - don’t miss the sliders or the duck molé. Notable wine program.”
“Joon Bar is back in action this summer with a full menu after mostly only serving Flat Breads last summer. It’s not the same Joon it was prior to Covid, but the experience, level of service and deliciousness is still there. I was lucky enough to get a spot at the bar with a couple of friends and we were able to eat ala carte off the menu, please note that sit down dinners do have a fixed menu. We had a great time! The menu that week had a little something for everyone, but the menu changes here and there from week to week so keep that in mind. Joon was my favorite restaurant in town and I’m thrilled to see it back!”
“Stopped here for a happy hour snack around 5 before heading to the beach for the sunset and it was perfect for that. I had a nice white linen cocktail and my partner was able to get a yummy mocktail that perfectly complimented our oysters. The granita they serve with the oysters was a nice change after a lot of mignonette at other places. We also shared a burrata salad but unfortunately for my gluten free partner (fortunately for me) she couldn’t have the fried olives so I had them all to my self and they were delicious. The host wasn’t the friendliest when we walked in but the owner came right over and greeted us warmly and the bartender while served us was lovely and well informed about allergies and cross contamination.”
“Joon is such a quaint and charming environment. I’ve wanted to try it for years, and this was the year! The menu is incredibly small, so make sure there is something you want before booking it. There were two appetizer specials but not entrees. We split the incredible duck sliders everyone talks about (and are worth being discussed), and I got the bouillabaisse, which was quite delicious though scarce on amounts of seafood (2 mussels, one scallop halved in two, a small chunk of lobster, etc). The wine list is quite nice, and we skipped on dessert. The biggest complaint I have are the prices. The prices are astronomical for what you get and compared to others in town offering similar with more variety and/or better ambiance. At this price point I might consider the bar for a drink and some sliders or a burger, but I don’t know that I could justify $50+ an entree.”
