Cravings Tapas Bistro is an International restaurant in the Ridgewood neighborhood of Ridgewood.
“I organized a ladies night out at cravings and it exceeded my expectations. The owner eas so easy to work with, the staff went above and beyond (staying open late for our party) and the food was amazing. Big portions for a tapas and so much to choose from. I’ll be back for sure.”
“This tapas restaurant in NJ actually had tapas sized plates which make it wonderful to enjoy the variety they offer. Way too many “tapas” restaurants in the US serve big meals probably to prices their plates in the $20-$30 range, but this restaurant actually has good tapas portions when looking for that tradition Spanish experience. We tried the linguini seafood, burrata pesto toast, patatas bravos con chorizo, empanadas, mussels in tomato basil sauce, veal meatballs.. all very very good. BYOB with a wine shop next door. Live guitarist/singer lightly playing for a great vibe. The only criticism would be the portion sizes are truly tapas but range from $9-$17 or more which doesn’t match the tapas culture, but that’s the US for you.”
“Good visit, octopus was perfectly cooked - shrimp, skirt steak, empanadas and truffle fries all fantastic. Only not so good was the pork in the charcuterie - did not appear nor taste fresh. It tasted and looked as it was cut a bit ago - didnt have that vibrant pink look. If it was freshly cut, recommend checking quality/freshness on it..Thats all, service was very good also.”
“I’m always looking for tapas style restaurants and they’re hard to find with good reviews. This one was recommended to me, but I left disappointed. With some dietary restrictions, it seemed like a good fit. Unfortunately, food is lacking flavor. It started off strong with the shrimp ajillo. That was delicious. But everything after that was really not that great. We had ordered steak tacos( fell right apart as you pick it up), summer corn ( least amount of flavor- felt like it was shaved corn off a cob), patatas bravas with chorizo (didn’t even taste like chorizo, more like a sausage!), and another potato dish and shoestring fries (were regular fries!). I wish the waiter described the dishes more or made specific recommendations. He did not check in to see how we were liking our meal either. We didn’t even try dessert because dinner was so disappointing! Our check was so high and I don’t even feel like I ate food valued what I paid for. Unfortunately, I do not recommend the restaurant and would not return!”
“I visited this restaurant several years ago because the Zeppole Tree dessert was delicious, cute, and perfect for photos, so I'd bring my daughter to try it. I know tapas are served in small plates and I know prices are generally high, but I believe anyone who's tried this place will reconsider. The food was tasty, but the price was high and the portions were really too small. If I were to come back, I probably wouldn't be for a full meal; I'd just want to order the Zeppole Tree dessert . We ate around 1:30 pm, so there was no one else at the table and we were the only ones there. The service was very attentive. Skirt Steak $25.25 Paella Valencia $21.75 Gnocchi $18.25 Zeppole Tree $13.50”
