“We had a fantastic dining experience at Augie’s! One of the dishes we ordered was the Pollo San Miguel, and it was absolutely delicious. I also had the steak and enchilada combination, which I believe was called La Norteña, and it was excellent. A special thank you to Hector, who greeted us warmly and made us feel welcome from the moment we arrived. He took the time to explain the menu, answer our questions, and provide recommendations. We ended up ordering exactly what he suggested, and every recommendation was spot-on. To top it all off, Hector surprised us with a complimentary dessert—a churro filled with chocolate, served with vanilla ice cream. It was absolutely incredible and the perfect ending to a wonderful meal. The food was outstanding, the service was exceptional, and the atmosphere was warm and inviting. Hector’s hospitality truly made our visit memorable. We will definitely be back and highly recommend Augie’s to anyone looking for great food, excellent service, and a memorable dining experience!”

“My husband and I visited Augie’s on December 6, 2025, and I’m only writing this review now, but sometimes the experiences that stay with you the longest deserve to be shared, even later. We found Augie’s while visiting Santa Barbara from Calgary, Canada. We had been walking from the beach side, tired and hungry, looking for a cozy place where my husband and I could sit down, relax, enjoy delicious food and spend some quality time together. The moment we walked in, everything started changing, the atmosphere was warm, with beautiful lighting and comfortable setting, it all immediately helped us unwind after a long walk. A special thank you to our server, who was incredibly friendly, helpful and accommodating! We had asked if we could move to a quieter table so my husband and I could talk, enjoy our evening together and simply slow down for a bit, and he kindly made that happen. We were truly grateful for that thoughtful gesture because it made our experience even more memorable. The food was absolutely delicious and beautifully presented. We had a perfectly cooked salmon dish with delicious vegetables and a fresh, flavorful sauce that was amazing, and the other dish with tender chicken in a creamy mushroom sauce served with rice and vegetables that was rich, comforting and full of flavor. Every plate looked wonderful and tasted even better. Another touch we really appreciated was Augie himself stopping by our table to ask how everything tasted. He was friendly, warm and genuinely made us feel welcome. Thanks, Augie!!! Experiences like this are about much more than just food. It was the combination of delicious meals, wonderful service, and a cozy atmosphere that turned a simple dinner into a memorable evening for us. We loved it and would happily come back again whenever we are in Santa Barbara.”

“Augie’s is hands down one of the best Mexican food spots I’ve ever experienced. Every dish was absolutely delicious and full of flavor. The service was just as impressive from start to finish, everything was smooth and welcoming. Our server, “Charlotte” , truly stood out specially so kindly with my 10 years old. She was attentive, friendly, and made sure we had an amazing experience the entire time. Highly recommend this place — great food, great service, and overall a fantastic experience!”

“Augie’s was our best food experience during our 72 hours trip to Santa Barbara. The Ceviche was amazing with super fresh fish and vegies. We were a party of 10 and we ordered 70% of their dishes. Everyone was very pleased with their dishes. Guacamole, The NY Steak, Salmon, Fajitas, and the veggie tacos were all super tasty. Very friendly staff with great service.”

“I am torn on rating the service. Our server was excellent! Very attentive! However, everyone else was awful. We made reservations. We waited to be seated (as the sign says), and then when we got there we were told to sit wherever. We picked a table, and were told that table was unavailable. There was no sign whatsoever, and, again, we were told to sit wherever. The table we wanted to sit at was never used either. I ordered the mole chicken enchilada, and I really enjoyed them. The La Fresca beverage from the bar was okay. My partner ordered the steak fajitas, which were not good. There were about 4 pieces of steak, and the bell peppers were flavorful but undercooked. Our overall experience was not great.”
