Crudo e Nudo

“The last time I was in town I came here with a colleague for lunch and was blown away. I told myself I was going on my next time in town and today was that next time. Simone greeted me and remembered me from my one visit. She reviewed the menu and said to sit either inside or out. I decided to sit inside to feel the vibe and enjoy the music. Summer was my server and like her name she was a true ray of sunshine and made me feel very comfortable. Another colleague made a couple of suggestions for me to try and I followed his lead plus 1 item I had the last time that I found myself craving! I started with the Caesar Goes Vegan which I have been listing after since my 1st visit. So rich, so perfectly balanced with flavor and dusted with togarashi to elevate a great salad to epic heights. Next was the Venus Nachos. Now these were ridiculous. So very rich with the roe on top but all the flavors complimented each other while the variance in textures kept the party alive in your mouth. My colleague said the Kanpachi was a must and it was excellent. The house made vinegar and olive oil enhancements were just that, enhancements that allowed the fish to be the star. Simone came by and brought me a couple if small pieces of bread to clean the plate of those well crafted oil and vinegar flavors. Filled and satisfied I opted for the Chocolate Almond Butter Cup to go as I knew later I would wish I had!. Food made with love tastes different and enriches your body in a special way. The staff is all engaged and they live the culture. They believe and they share their positive energy. Chef Brian, my compliments that your staff did not miss a beat today. You have created a great culture and it has to be satisfying for you to be able to step aside for part of the day and know the message is the same. I will be back in town in a few weeks and of course I WILL be back to try more of the ever evolving menu. “I was just delighted with the food here. Inventive and delicious - they even managed to make whelk taste nice. Restroom is a little janky in a charming way. The outdoor seating is done well for a parklet. Paper napkins. Waitress was lovely. We did a long lunch and never felt rushed. Left feel extremely contented. Really can't hard on how well they're doing crudos enough. Blissful uni.”

“The gem that is Crudo e Nudo is a must visit! Located on Main Street in Santa Monica, you'd be forgiven to think this may be an overpriced tourist trap. But what you're really getting is a thoughtfully curated, responsibly sourced, and creative seafood based menu in a cozy and home-like environment with excellent and friendly service. We felt very welcomed from the moment we stepped in to the time we left. It was more akin to visiting friends than going out to a restaurant. The service was intimate and friendly without being overbearing. The suggestions were helpful and clearly reflected our preferences. While some of the dishes took longer than expected, overall we don't have any complaints with the extraordinary service. The ambience was cozy and special. The design isn't over the top and fanciful but rather modest, comfy, and intimate. Much like the name, it followed the theme of raw, naked, and unfiltered. Lastly, the food was amazing! They made each ingredient shine. From the tuna tartare toast to the lobster gnocchi, every dish was carefully curated and even the supporting ingredients (like the oil) were high quality and carefully curated to fit. The uni taco bites were to die for. Don't sleep on the secret menu caviar nachos either! Not a single dish disappointed us in any way; you're paying for quality. Overall, if you are looking for a cozy, sustainable sourced seafood meal with friendly atmosphere and staff, you can't go wrong with Crudo e Nudo. Easily 4.75 stars!”

“This was an outstanding dining experience. Crudo e Nudo change their menu constantly based on what has been freshly caught. That dedicated to sourcing food based on seasonality is evident in their fresh and flavorful dishes. Everything from the sauces, to the broths, to the quality and flavour of the fish, is truly remarkable. I literally polished off each of my plates. Even the shishito peppers blew me away! The server was also very attentive, and ensure a gluten free safe meal If you don’t mind a splurge (or being treated like me 😂), this is a definite, definite must in the area.”

“The seafood quality was good and honestly everything tasted good overall but portions were pretty small tho. The branzino wasn’t that great and we def don’t recommend sitting inside! The kitchen is right in front of u so the smoke was hurting our eyes the whole time but outdoor dining looked way nicer tho :)”
