Edit Mona Pasta Bar Dinner dishes highlight the marriage of Italian techniques with Southern California ingredients including Pesce Crudo with citrus cured hamachi, kosho beet vinaigrette and hazelnuts, Burrata & Tomato with burrata pugliese, heirloom tomato, pine nuts, pesto and squash blossom, Casarecce with lamb sausage and rapini, Lumache - alla vodka, and a Whole Branzino with caramelized fennel. The menu is designed for snacking over a glass of wine, sharing with friends and/or enjoying a more coursed out dining experience. Pasta, a focal point of the offerings, will all be made in-house. The wine list is focused on fun, daring, low-intervention, natural wines to accentuate and complement the food. The primarily Italian focused list with opening selections from Sicily to Puglia will be rotating based on seasonality and availability.
“lovely intimate place in downtown LA. wasnt crowded at all when I came in at 5 pm (but i did have a reservation). service was kind and attentive. pasta portion (i think i ordered the vongole) was generous and tiramisu was soo delicious”
“I can't say enough good things about this place - it ticks all the right boxes for me. Love: 💖 - Authentic, high quality, truly flavourful and delicious food like what I get in Italy. Let the food speak to you. 😋😋 - Classy and simple decor but a welcoming atmosphere that balances liveliness without being overly loud. - Attentive and professional service, on point. Quick turnaround from the kitchen. - Easy reservations via Google Maps. What we thoroughly enjoyed: - Baby artichokes with Parmesan - Bucatini Caccio e Pepe - Casarecce - Olive oil cake with blueberry compote This wan't my first time here nor will it be the last. I don't rate everywhere a 5 because then nothing genuinely stands out, but I think this place deserves it. Way to go!”
“Great food. Pasta is really well done and rich in flavor. Service was great and the ambience was intimate. The flavors were great for everything we had.”
“A hidden gem in downtown LA! The space feels more like your grandma’s cozy kitchen than a traditional restaurant, but that’s part of its charm. The food is outstanding—comforting, flavorful, and clearly made with care. We’ll definitely be back next time we’re in the area. The last picture is an empty plate of fried calamari. It was just too good.”
“It’s very tiny but incredibly amazing. A little gem hidden in DTLA (if you don’t know it’s there, it’s almost unnoticeable). Food and service are very high quality, with very attentive waitresses. I’ve come here twice, both times ordered pasta, and it always surprises me how good the food is. The candles in the tables are also a plus. However, there’s a few things that could be improved. The biggest one is the amount of food. I understand that it is a restaurant in DTLA, but for that price I would expect more food. Also, warn you that the seats aren’t the most comfortable ever, so be aware. To summarize, very recommended if you’re looking for a not super expensive Italian restaurant in Downtown while maintaining an intimate and cozy vibe with high food/service quality.”
