von Trapp Brewing Bierhall is an European-American restaurant in the Stowe neighborhood of Stowe.
“The von Trapp Brewing Bierhall offers a beautiful setting with stunning mountain views, a relaxed atmosphere, and authentic Austrian-inspired charm. The beer selection was excellent, the food was fresh and flavorful, and the staff were friendly and welcoming. We especially enjoyed sitting outside and taking in the scenery. Whether you’re a craft beer enthusiast or simply looking for a great place to relax after exploring Stowe, this spot is well worth a visit.”
“What a really nice place to stop and eat at. I didnt know the story behind the family, I only saw the sound of music movie dozens of times bit never knew they were a real family that actually settled in vermont. So I learned something new on the trip. The restaurant is very big, clean, has outdoor seating area, can see the brewery from a window inside i didn't tour the brewery. The food is good, place is clean, easy to get to and has very nice scenery around it. The prices are reasonable and portions are good sized.”
“A solid stop if you’re in the Stowe area and appreciate a classic European-style brewery experience. The setting is beautiful, with a distinct German/Austrian atmosphere — from the alpine-style buildings to the relaxed, communal feel. The beer was well-crafted and true to traditional European styles — clean, balanced, and easy to enjoy. The food paired well with the drinks, and everything felt thoughtfully done.”
“Let’s talk experiences.. a brewery tour can be boring if you aren’t into beer. But the Von Trapp Brewery has so much family history behind them (can I get a “the hills are alive” 🎶) that this was an enjoyable tour. Set in the hills of Stowe, with beautiful views, you are immersed into a proud, strong, family run legacy. You start off in the event space that overlooks the entire brewery for some really stellar Birds Eye views of the space. Then they walk you through all the different areas explaining the process for famous Austrian beers. Standing next to the huge vats was super cool, as well as seeing the canning process. After the tour of the facility, we got to sample about 4 different beers. As someone who does not like beer, I was impressed that I liked one of the golden lagers, Helles! There is a restaurant attached, so we ate dinner there, to top off our Vermont Austria experience with some Bavarian food! If you are in the area, this is a must try! IG Lentz_Explore”
“Stopped in to enjoy some tasty Austrian brews and fresh snacks on the beautiful and legendary grounds. We weren’t very hungry and couldn’t stay long, so we ordered a crisp lager, a shaved radish salad, and von Trapp pretzels with house mustards and beer cheese. The beer was cold and refreshing, the pretzels soft and salty, and the beer cheese absolutely knocked it out of the park. But the real star of the show was the shredded radish salad. Much to our surprise, this dish was a visual and culinary delight, a creative display of daikon, watermelon, and red radishes, lightly dressed with lemon oil and salt flakes. It was incredibly fresh and flavorful, and my daughters and I loved it! The ambiance of the bierhall is fantastic featuring large windows, tasteful taxidermy, and timber architecture all set against a scenic backdrop. If you’re in the area, definitely stop in and check it out!”
