“We absolutely loved our stay at Huddy House Bed & Breakfast. From the moment we walked through the door, it felt like stepping back in time in the best possible way. This beautiful Victorian home has been thoughtfully restored, with stunning woodwork, period details, and gorgeous interior design that captures the charm and elegance of another era while still feeling warm and comfortable. Our room and bathroom were spotless, well stocked, and full of character. Every detail seemed carefully considered, creating a cozy and welcoming atmosphere. The neighborhood felt safe and quiet, and the location was perfect, with easy access to great restaurants and the beach. The caretaker was incredibly responsive, kind, and helpful throughout our stay. What impressed us most was that after we accidentally left behind a favorite pillow, they found it and went out of their way to ship it back to us. That level of care and customer service is rare and greatly appreciated. One of the highlights of our trip was breakfast at Matis House. It was such a fun and unique experience, with wonderful service, a beautiful atmosphere, and delicious food. We thoroughly enjoyed both the home and the hospitality, and it added something special to our visit. If you enjoy historic homes, beautiful architecture, and unique places with personality, Huddy House is a true gem. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would not hesitate to return. We will definitely stay here again the next time we’re in New Jersey.”

“I was traveling with my wife touring the beautiful New Jersey shores and Princeton, and we were looking for a centrally located accommodation; we found the Mathis House, a beautiful Victorian House B&B, and we could not resist the temptation to depart from the usual large chain hotels, which offer certain conveniences but at the end they are all the same, and to try something different and more personal. Our expectations were definitely exceeded; when we arrived, Evan was there waiting for us with a smile and he gave us a complete tour of the property, introducing us to this beautiful house. The Mathis House is amazing, the main floor is wood paneled and beautifully appointed with its elegant foyer, breakfast rooms and majestic architectural stairways and chandelier. A number of working fireplaces, antique furniture and décor completed the atmosphere! Our bedroom was at the first floor and we were in awe for the quality of everything. The tall bed with high quality linen and plenty of plush cushions was the centerpiece that set the tone for everything else; a beautiful private bathroom and a lot of amenities like the high quality bathroom robes and towels complemented the bedroom. The freshly prepared breakfast is served in the morning at the impeccably set tables, with their special table clothes and precious plates, cups and silverware; the food was delicious and plenty, as well as the selection of coffee and teas. Service was also impeccable and everyone was courteous, creating a special atmosphere also among the guests. Every afternoon / evening we found nice treats, savory and sweet, in the common area at the first floor and a Keurig machine and pods was available to get coffee at anytime, especially appreciated in the morning when we were opening our eyes. There is also a nice gift shop with their teas and other nice products. Whenever we had a special request we sent a text to Evan, and he was very quick answering and fulfilling our requests, making us feel really cared for. Overall a very special experience and, if we will return in that area in the future, we will definitely stay at the Mathis House! Thank you Evan and Mathis House Team, Well Done! Claudia and Luigi”

“I had a large event and stay here and absolutely loved my experience! I sincerely never would've been able to pull it off without the staff here, everyone was so positive and attentive and willing to help with everything for the party! They provided a pianist for the party music which was such a beautiful touch! The food was incredible and as someone with celiac they were very conscious of my meal being safely prepared and equally as delicious as their traditional dishes! The soup was so good my relatives were all buying more to take home with them! They also let me know they have cute princess teas and tea with the easter bunny events so we will be back soon! The venue itself is stunning and pristine, I hardly had to decorate! So grateful to have had my event here!”

“We spent two nights at the Mathis house celebrating our anniversary in the beginning of January. What a charming bed-and-breakfast! We loved the Christmas lights and decorations and our room was very clean and comfortable. The breakfast in the morning was delicious. Evan was very accommodating during our stay. We can’t wait to return.”
