“Tuna melt is exceptional. Great place to drink at the terrace on a sunny da with a good guiness”
“Proper English pub, Sunday dinner looks good. Great place to be for FIFA World Cup I imagine, well, I'll be here and by then will have had that Sunday roast. Looks proper. Weather getting better, has a bit of an outdoor area, might become my goto.”
“Smashing IT! 🇬🇧🍻🇬🇧 When you're missing Britain and a taste of home there's nothing better than stopping by at MOK - Man of Kent to bring you back to the comforts of a cozy English Dinner. As soon as you walk into MOK - Man of Kent you immediately feel like you've stepped into a comfy proper British Pup. It definitely feels like you're also meeting up with family and great friends. Nestled in the heart of groovy and hipster Ossington Avenue where all the cool people hang out this recently opened restaurant is serving up some of the most amazing British Culinary Cuisines. At my first outing at this spectacular place I had the following delicious plates: Sausage Roll - Delicately wrapped in a tasty and mouth watery flakey dough. I loved the two accompaniment's. One was a sweet BBQ sauce and the other was an amazing tangy tart relish. Scotch Egg - Perfectly executed! The yoke was nice soft and runny, while the outside was nice and crunchy! Beef & Ale Pie - The SMELL was so amazing it immediately brought me back to my childhood! The crust on the this pie was so delicious, buttery and flakey, the meat and vegetables on the inside was well spiced and not over cooked but done just right. I just loved the mashed peas and mashed potatoes. Smothered and sitting on a bed of delicious and luscious gravy. And for Pièce de Résistance the famous, the marvelous, the stop the pressed STICKY TOFFEE PUDDING! Oh my gosh! I have had Sticky Toffee Pudding from many places here in Toronto and not one of them are able to make the mark and execute this delicate dessert to perfection! But MOK - Man of Kent did it! There Sticky Toffee Pudding is not overly sweet, you can smell the butter and the spices that went into this divine dessert and it's topped with the most delicious vanilla ice-cream. The Manager, wait staff and bar tenders are all so nice and welcoming. And if you happen to be in search of that perfect pour of the most amazing beer the Irish call Guinness then Mok - Man of Kent is definitely the place to get that perfect pour! I had an amazing time at this restaurant, the people, the vibes, the energy and the food was top notch I'd give them 100 out of a 100 if there was a score card! Can't wait to come back and dig my teeth and treat my taste buds with some more of their delicious British Pub Food! 😋”
“Lovely English-style pub on Ossington. Good atmosphere, friendly staff, good beer selection and gourmet food. Popped in for a pint and a snack with my young son for a break from shopping. London Pride was excellent, very friendly serving staff (we had at least three people looking after us - we did not want for anything). The food was great - we had the sausage roll and some triple-cooked chips. I’m taking 1 star off the food not because it wasn’t excellent but because for $20 I was slightly taken aback by the distinctly ‘snack sized’ portion - could not have been more than 3 bites. Lesson learned, but doesn’t change my overall view, will come back.”
“Was feeling a bit homesick so thought I'd finally give this place a go. The food was actually pretty decent and the pies, scotch egg and sausage roll was pretty authentic. The tartare sauce was surprisingly good too. Only let down was that the music volume was so uncomfortably loud. Maybe because it was extra busy from Do West but the volume was cranked so high at one point we had to leave. I love a rowdy pub but we couldn't justify the prices and how unbearable it was to be there and had to go elsewhere for drinks.”
