“Fantastic experience at The Old York Tavern. I had never been, but my cousin recommended it and will 💯 be back. One of the best brunch patios I’ve been on, ever. Situated in more of a residential area, you are not getting the overstimulating hustle and bustle vibe of the city but more of a chill and quaint small town. The polarizing view of the CN tower was absolutely perfect. We enjoyed the lobster Benedict and the French toast. Top notch!”
“Great for celiac-safe dining. Usually the burger bun is amazing, last time we were there they had a different one that was Udi’s or another store bought brand though and it fell apart, hopefully they get the other ones back. Sometimes service is a bit slow/inattentive but not bad. Great food and drinks are worth it.”

“I really like to think of Old York Tavern as a hidden gem, but I’m sure they’re more of a local legend. Their menu is small, but has such interesting combinations. They’re always worth every penny, and I’ve been visiting the restaurant for their food multiple times. If I had to ever recommend a restaurant to people visiting the city, this would be probably on the top of my list of recommendations. Literally, every single item from their brunch to dinner menu, including their drinks (personally a big fan of their ceasar and breakfast martini) makes me foam at the mouth. The staff there are super friendly and sweet. Shoutout to George! He always remembered me, and never missed saying hello when he saw me. The service is always great, but I think it’s unique in the way that it feels like a community to me. This was my perfect third place (a place outside of work and home). It’s more than just a restaurant with good food, it’s also a vibey atmosphere with really cool people. A city gem. 11/10”
“solid 3.5 stars on the food, but i feel like I may update this after trying them again. The Old York Tavern feels like an old-man bar with a facelift (which i love) cozy, warm inviting atmosphere, good character. It’s definitely on the smaller side, so tables are very close together, but it kind of adds to the character. My friend and I caught the tail end of happy hour and the drink + oyster deal is a great value. That said, the oysters were shucked pretty poorly (lots of shell bits), which was a bit of a letdown. Food-wise, my first experience was a mixed bag but mostly positive. Mortadella sandwich: Amazing flavour, but I did end up pulling a couple long stringy rinds out of my mouth, which kind of turned me off, but the sandwich itself was great Chicken liver mousse: I’m not a mousse person, so take this with a grain of salt. The flavour was fine, just not my thing texture-wise. Stracciatella & flatbread: Hands down the star of the meal. The flatbread was unreal, perfect texture and flavour and the stracciatella with roasted grapes was such a good combo. Salt & pepper calamari: Good, solid, nothing groundbreaking. Overall, the meal was good, service was excellent and the vibe is great. I’d definitely go back to try more dishes”
