“the staff here were super genuine, nice, and made sure i had a good experience and i am super grateful ! the ambiance is also perfect for brunch the fried chicken malawach was a unique and tasty dish. the fried chicken had a thick, crispy coating (although maybe a little less crunchy and juicy compared to their nazareth hot chicken dish) and it was coated in a sharply sweet hot honey harissa that gave it a nice sweet spiciness. what really made it super tasty was the SUPER CREAMY yogurt-y, slightly acidic labneh that balanced the heavier flavours impeccably. this was also my first time trying malawach , and it reminded me a lot of chinese scallion pancakes, but a lot crunchier, less chewy, and not as oily/greasy. the layers were INSANE (albeit a bit difficult to bite/chew off). another super unique dish that you hAVE to get is the labneh cheesecake. the consistency is a lot softer and creamier than your typical cheesecake, and its a bit sour, not as sweet, but fused with really unique flavours like yogurt, mint, and a hint of olive oil? the pistachio “crust” underneath was really buttery, the jam gave it a nice tart sweetness, and the crunchy nuts were a nice earthy touch. they’ve changed the breaky pitas a bit, but it was quite a beautiful medley of flavours and textures. first, the hot sauce is quite strong and spicy, and its really drizzled all over — however, the savouriness and middle eastern spices of the merguez patty and the hot sauce were paired with a cold, fresh, tangy, crunchy “salad” consisting of onions , tomatoes, pickles and other veggies. i was a bit disappointed at first because i couldn’t really see/taste the latke , but they kindly set over a plate of latkes for me and i’m so glad they did because they were ABSOLUTELY DIVINE. so crispy, freshly fried, warm, mushy and creamy on the inside. the pita and scrambled eggs were also ridiculously soft and fluffy and warm.”

“A flavourful excursion to the Holy Land. Had the chicken and rice-lentil bowl along with a cinnamon-esque house drink (writing a week before Christmas). Nice vibes inside right on oss & Dundas and very cool (but very reactive) waiting staff. This is exactly what I thought a Toronto take on Jerusalem would offer”

“I gather from other reviews the format may have changed. We overheard the server telling other customers, and what it appeared from the menu, at dinner time on a Saturday it's principally a tapas menu. sooooo ... smaller plates. That said. Outstanding food! It's a small place. Very small kitchen. But boy, they put out great food quickly. Cocktails were well made and balanced. Quite possibly the best hummus ever. The only thing that's going to beat it is your granny's secret family recipe. Pita was elevated. The Falafel? You ever notice they are usually dry as a nun's habit in the Sahara? I kid you not, firm and crispy on the outside, hot and MOIST on the inside. FABULOUS. Yeah, small portions. Meant to share as appetizers. Price? I saw a complaint two people was around $120. I'm sorry, but in Toronto, great food with a round for around $100? That's a good deal. WE left full and satiated with 2 rounds of cocktails for $140. We were sufficiently saffonsified anything more would have been superfluous.”

“My low rating is purely due to the service I received. I felt like the servers were oddly cold towards me. They would walk past my table a few times and not look my way, meanwhile I tried getting their attention to ask a question. I went in solo around 11pm and it wasn’t busy (4 tables occupied). There was one server running the floor and one bartender. If it was busier, I would understand a level of scarcity. Other than that, I had their late night menu, which were small plates. Their Zatar fries were pretty good, and fried chicken bites were just okay - nothing unique. Their labneh cheesecake on the other hand was the best thing I had. I liked that it wasn’t too sweet and it was a different take on a cheesecake. I would come back for that.”
