“Exactly the kind of Indian place you want. Not fancy or overpriced, but elegant and well priced prepared curries and other classic dishes. There are so many trendy and hyper-stylized Indian places in DC, but if you’re looking for a comforting curry with great service, don’t look any further! Can’t recommend this great neighborhood spot highly enough.”
“Excellent food at excellent prices! Cafe of India makes a great Madras Chicken, Dal Makhani, and Crackling Spinach - all dairy-free. They have a monthly promotion, usually 10-15% of a take-out of dine in order (if you sign up for their list - does not apply to delivery). They have a extensive vegan section, too. Highly recommend!”
“We really enjoyed this place. We had the chicken vindaloo, butter chicken, mixed platter, and chicken with spinach. All were very good. Service was great. I would definitely recommend this place.”
“Stopped by on my way over to Washington DC. Tried the buffet on Saturday, it's a pretty small buffet, but everything prepared is fresh, even the chutneys. It's pretty hard to find fresh food, especially in a buffet setting. Because restaurants are usually trying to pass leftover food for their buffet. Wood flooring, nice chandelier and friendly service.”
“THERE IS NO LUNCH BUFFET! On a previous visit they specifically told us there was one during the week but when we stopped by for the buffet today the server told us they haven’t had it for some time. There is a very limited Thali for lunch on Monday and Wednesday. Food is good but any request other than Spicy+Hot means very mild food. There is no in between.”
