A culinary adventure into the heart of the Mediterranean, featuring some old world classics & new world libations.
“Namak is essentially a Persian restaurant at its core, and that’s what makes it outstanding. The owner’s brilliant idea is to expand the menu beyond Persian cuisine and include select Mediterranean, Turkish, and Arabic dishes that naturally complement the flavors. The result is a rich, diverse, and incredibly delicious dining experience. The food tastes amazing — especially the kebabs. In my opinion, this place deserves a Michelin star. If you visit, don’t miss Kebab Fest. For a fixed price, you can try multiple dishes, making it the perfect way to experience the menu. Highly recommended.”
“Namak has been consistently great over three visits for both meals and cocktail program. The dips, fresh pita, and mezze plates are shareable and presented well with fresh flavors. The trout was excellent and garnished with citrus and herbs for the perfect bite. Don’t skip the saffron orzo. Our service was attentive and we can’t wait to return.”
“We had a great brunch experience at Namak. The lamb sausage was perfectly seasoned, the beef dumplings were juicy and flavorful, and the fish dish was delicate and beautifully cooked. Every plate we tried had a unique, well-balanced flavor profile. The service was outstanding—attentive without being intrusive—and the atmosphere struck a great balance between vibrant and cozy. It’s definitely on the pricier side, but the quality of the food and experience made it well worth it. Highly recommend for a special brunch outing!”
“We came here for dinner and the service and ambiance were wonderful. It was hard to gauge how much food to order without finding out from the server how big each dish was. We ended up with too much food but everything was excellent. We ordered the tahini and labne with pita bread, saganaki, zucchini fritters, trout, and rice for 3 people. We had no room for dessert which was tragic because they make their own ice cream in house. Next time I would really like to try their kebabs.”
“Namak DC offers a consistently pleasant dining experience where the attentive service truly stands out. The meal features well-executed Mediterranean staples, from the creamy and balanced hummus to the perfectly seasoned potatoes. The spicy lamb kebab is a particular highlight, offering a satisfying kick that pairs well with the rest of the spread. While the flavors are solid and the execution is "good" across the board, the meal stops just short of being a "great" or truly transcendent culinary event. Overall, it is a reliable and welcoming spot for anyone seeking a polished, quality meal in a comfortable atmosphere.”
