The Whip Tavern

“My daughter and son-in-law wanted to take the Moms to the Whip Tavern for Mother's Day. They made reservations for 5, and the options were 4:30 or 8:30 on Saturday, so we went with 4:30. It is a tiny building but they are doing it right! There is complimentary valet parking which was great because I have no idea where we would have parked. We were seated at exactly 4:30, and our server was friendly and fast. RJ and I ordered Downeast Peach Mango Cider which was refreshing and delicious. We started with crab and artichoke dip and beef and weck eggrolls, and our table ordered 2 fish and chips, the "Luxury" seafood pie, shepherd's pie, and the beef on weck sandwich. My weck included onions, mushrooms, swiss, and bacon with a side of au jus and horseradish. Yum, what a salty, savory, spicy combo. The roast beef was very tender and juicy. The fish and chips were all enjoyed, as were both pies. We did not make it to dessert but will try that again another time. We were in and out in about 1 hour without being rushed at all. We will definitely return to the Whip!”

“This was our first time here and wow, this will be a regular place for us in the future! Our service was amazing. From the assisted parking to the waitress to the food busser, everybody was super friendly and working incredibly hard. On top of that, our food was amazing. I got their seafood pie special which should forever be on the menu because it was amazing! Oh and don’t leave without trying the sticky toffee dessert, so good. Overall, highly reccomend this hidden gem but certainly get a reservation because it was busy!”

“The Whip Tavern is a bit in the boondocks, but it has a crowded (free) valet parking area. Inside, the atmosphere is rustic yet cozy—very English pub–style. You can tell this place gets packed with locals, making it feel like a hidden gem. The servers definitely expect you to have a reservation, so it’s highly recommended. There’s a nice selection of beers to choose from. The Scotch egg was decent. The soups were a bit disappointing especially the mushroom soup, which wasn’t the creamy mushroom soup most people would expect. It was very bland.. tasted healthy. That said, I was blown away by the weekend special beef Wellington. The bangers and mash were pretty good as well. The English toffee pudding was excellent! Overall, the prices weren’t bad. The bartender greeted us promptly and my server was great. I would definitely come back and try more dishes.”

“"A little piece of home" from the second I walked in I felt like I'd walked in a pub at home in Nottingham England. I was totally spoiled for choice with the options on the menu but the the number one food I miss from the uk is sausages so bangers and mash was the obvious choice. I now have to go back again sometime soon for the fish and chips but then I have to make the difficult decision to get mushy pees or curry sauce. I guess I could get both. Since then I also heard they do an amazing full English breakfast (brunch) so I guess what I'm saying is, "it's bloody lovely at the Whip and I'm gonna make it me second home!"”
