Pizza by Sal is an Italian & Pizza restaurant in the Wilmette neighborhood of Wilmette.
“My wife and I were in the area and had a taste for pizza. Originally we were just going to get a slice each and call it a day. However we decided to dine in and had a fabulous experience. Bonnie and Logan were great and even asking if it was our first time there. The pizza was delicious and Pizza by Sals will definitely be on our reoccurring list. And it’s a sin that Buck Russel’s is tied directly to the pizza shop. Ended up getting treats there as well!!”
“Stayed with MIL in Glenview, IL and naturally ate pizza on the daily. I gravitate toward thin crust NY style pizza and Sal’s wins in a landslide. Thin crust and oh so good. Cute place too!”
“Yo! The pizza is amazing because they use really good ingredients. Like, better than you can buy. I’m not a mushroom or tomato fan on pizza, and I’ve now learned it’s because I’m eating pizza with cheap ingredients. Sal’s Za was so good. I had sausage, mushroom, and tomatoes (because that’s what my father-in-law wanted) and it was awesome. We did half red, half white, and it felt like we had two completely differently pizza. 5+ stars. Keep it up Sal. The pizza is dope. Can’t go wrong with some quality pepper flakes or parm sprinkles tho.”
“First time trying this place, and was interested to try their Sicilian style. It was unfortunately quite underwhelming. Had what seemed like good quality ingredients but didn’t blend well together in flavors. Also not enough cheese. But more importantly, they overcooked my pizza and had a lot of black char on both the edge of the crust and shaved off underneath. The burnt aspect took away any chance of the other flavors shining through. I’ll maybe give them another chance and try their original pizzas, but they need to do better for the price they’re charging.”
“Extremely disappointing. The pizza had no flavor at all, and the dough was way too puffy and somehow still raw in the middle and bottom. On top of that, the pizza was tiny—definitely not worth the portion you get $98.58 didn’t fill up 4 people. What really made it worse was the price: crazy expensive for something this underwhelming. I still hungry and annoyed. Won’t be coming back.”
