“It seems crazy to write two 5-star reviews in a month, but if any restaurant deserves five stars, it's this one. I had come years ago for a brunch and was impressed, so was very much looking forward to this meal, a birthday celebration. We started off with drinks, including one of their mock-ritas and a lemon drop martini, which was fantastic. A second martini would've been dangerous, because it was quite strong, but delicious!! Next came calamari as an appetizer, which I devoured. Crispy, plentiful, sweet and spicy aioli/dipping sauce. Next, our three entrees arrived, by Kate, (otherwise known as Ms. Killer Smile), our knowledgeable, efficient, kind and funny waitress. Mom got fish tacos, and described them as "flavorful, crispy and quite delicious." The cabbage added an extra crunch-our household will not be having lettuce in our tacos anymore, but instead cabbage!! Pat got a special - a barbecue meal, which consisted of brisket, mac and cheese, corn bread and coleslaw. She used three adjectives: creamy (m+c), flavorful, and tender (brisket). There was enough leftover meat that she made two sandwiches the next day!! I had the steak tips, which came with truffle fries that I shared with everybody. I'm quite happy that I ordered that, because it could not have been better. Cooked medium, perfect crispiness on the fries, just an awesome, awesome meal. I will be enjoying the rest later. We very much wanted dessert. I was hoping to have room for the creme brulee, but there was just no way. I'll save it for next time! There was not a single flaw, everything worked out perfectly and we very much enjoyed our meal at Romaines. Next time you're in the area, (or even if you're not), choose this restaurant. I promise you will love it!”
“We recently hosted our daughter’s college graduation at Romaines Kitchen and Bar. We had the best time celebrating and eating the most delicious food, from ice-cold drinks and fresh appetizers to various tasty main-course dishes and desserts. The staff was very welcoming, efficient, and accommodating to the entire dinner party, creating a fun and joyful experience. Thank you to the Romaine Family! ❤️🎉🎓”
“Great choice for a great dinner. Sandi our server was so knowledgeable about drinks and entries, I was amazed. The table shared the calamari and my entry was the tenderloin cooked perfectly. RARE Thank You.”
“Went with friends, did a tapas event. Brussel sprouts fantastic, brie amazing, soups well received, salad as well. Bread basket was good, shared cheesecake and chocolate cake. Service was awkward. Our server was very pleasant, but the timing was off. For instance, we ordered coffee and dessert. Coffee came, and the desserts arrived over 10 minutes later. The pseudo meal was the same way. Not bad, just no flow.”
“Hi, my wife and I have been regulars at Romaine's for many years. While we still find the food very good, we have noticed a decline in customer service over the last year or two, which has resulted in us not frequenting the restaurant as much as we used to. However, we were looking for a nice thing to do on Mother's Day, saw their brunch and thought we'd give it another try. We had an 11am reservation for 4 (me, my wife, and our two adult kids). We arrived on time and people were waiting to be seated. The main dining room where the buffet was set up, was busy but not completely filled. There were multiple 4-tops open when we arrived as well as some tables set for larger parties. The people waiting in front of and behind us were seated in the main dining room. For some reason, the person at the greeter's stand decided we should be seated in the bar area, where no one else was seated. We got some drinks and didn't think much about it until we noticed after about 20 minutes that we were still the only people seated in the bar area. When we went to get our food in the main dining room there were still open 4-top tables. At this point we had been at the restaurant for over 30 minutes. When we got back to our table with our food the wait staff came in and started rearranging all the tables and chairs to reconfigure seating. To say the least, this was not the experience we expected. My wife got all dressed up to be among all the other moms having dinner. The other moms were all in the main dining room. We were in the bar area watching the staff move furniture. We went to the greeter's stand to complain and got a rather curt response from the person working there saying you were expecting a lot of people between 12-1. As we were finishing our meal our server offered to move us to the main dining room. To say the least, it was a bit late at that point. When we left around 12:30 pm, the bar area was basically empty, minus one other party that showed up just as we were leaving. We paid over $250 to eat at the restaurant on a festive day. Part of that experience is being with other people celebrating it. We ended up eating by ourselves. My son remarked that we could have just ordered takeout and eaten it at home. To make matters worse, the day after Mother's Day I posted this review directly to the "get in touch" form on the contact us page on the Romaine's website. Two and half weeks later, have not heard a peep from them resulting in me posting this review here. We had a very poor dining experience due to poor customer service and that poor customer service continues as either they are not monitoring their website or they just don't care.Very disappointing.”
