“It's recommended to book a reservation ahead of time as it can get extremely busy for dinner service. We came towards the later part of dinner service and waited as a walk-in for 2 people, ok with grabbing their next table or bar seats and thankfully they had openings available. Beautiful decorations and the atmosphere near the beach along with the pool with live background music definitely encapsuled the island atmosphere we were hoping to experience. Delicious food, I particularly liked the seafood risotto!! We also ordered the furikake ahi steak and ahi tuna sashimi. Drinks were great as well, I had tried the lychee martini and we ordered all three flavors of creme brulee to celebrate. Great dining experience!”
“The food was great overall, and the atmosphere was nice, they even had live background music. What really made the difference, though, was our waitress. She was incredibly kind, and it genuinely felt like she cared about giving us the best experience possible. Overall, this place is very solid. It’s on the pricier side depending on what you order, but everything is very well made. @meta.max”
“We had such a special honeymoon dinner at Duke’s. We love good food and honestly thought this was some of the best we’ve had on any coastal vacation, despite seeing a few reviews saying the food is overpriced. We had a 5:00 reservation and were seated promptly, and the service continued excellently and regularly. We started with the Korean sticky ribs, which were just okay for us, and we would probably try a different appetizer next time. But the macadamia nut-crusted mahi mahi was unreal. It may genuinely be the best fish entrée we’ve ever had on a coastal trip. The prime rib was also excellent and ended up being the perfect complement since we shared both entrées. And the Hula Pie was one of the best desserts we’ve ever had. It was the perfect way to end the meal. It is a must-order, hands-down. The setting made the night even better. We finished dinner watching the sunset over Ka’anapali, which made for such a memorable honeymoon evening. Service was also fantastic. Our server was attentive with refills, helpful with questions, and made the whole experience feel easy and special. Overall, Duke’s absolutely exceeded our expectations. We would definitely come back.”
“Duke’s Maui is a must! You have to get the macadamia nut ice cream Hula pie! It’s what they are known for and it doesn’t disappoint. My husband and I loved the calamari. Was it squid fingers or legs?! I don’t know but it was delicious and it was the first time we have ever had calamari in the shape of crooked mozzarella sticks. 100% We also enjoyed wedge salads, marinated mahi mahi fish tacos and the chicken & ribs dinner plate. You won’t be disappointed by the experience and food. Live music, cozy and fun atmosphere, large open air beach house with lots of tables. Enjoyed the view of the ocean from our booth. Great service and friendly staff. Thanks for sharing the Aloha Spirit with us at Duke’s Maui. Mahalo!”
“The food was very good, but the service was not. It took a long time to get our food. The server was polite and friendly, but he took forever to take our food order, and bring the bill. I’m guessing maybe they were short staffed. It was pretty busy. Atmosphere is casual beachside, a little bit on the loud side, but that is to be expected at this type of restaurant. Highly recommend the Wedge salad, rib and chicken combo, and the pork shank. Calamari and Coconut Shrimp were good but nothing special. Non-alcoholic slushy drinks were okay, and very small. Certainly not worth the $10.00 price tag! It’s worth a visit if you are not in a hurry and don’t mind the noise.”
