FOUR is a 10-seat chef’s counter located in Oyster Bay, New York. It is a uniquely immersive and interactive dining experience, where the rules, boundaries, and norms of typical dining do not apply. FOUR is housed in a restored shingle Cottage, where the first floor has been transformed into an exhibition kitchen with aesthetic homage to Scandinavian design. FOUR connects to 2 Spring by a winter garden inspired by the Ritz Paris which links it to the old industrial building. Cellars running under all three structures hold kitchens, wine cellars & services for the dining areas.
“The food here was amazing. The staff even better. The chef was very fun and crack jokes with me and the other patrons. This is an amazing intimate and social dinner where everyone tries each course and can talk about the flavors. Chef also talk about his inspiration for each item which enhances the meaning of each bite. Definitly worth going for an occasion just not everyday... unless you got money to spend”
“The Chef's Counter at Four is a fantastic restaurant! They offer a unique dining experience that combines delicious food, great drinks, and a fun atmosphere. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable, and they do a great job of making you feel welcome and comfortable. The tasting menu is a great way to experience the full range of what the Chef's Counter at Four has to offer. Each course is carefully crafted and beautifully presented, with flavors that are always interesting and unexpected. The wine pairings are also excellent, enhancing the overall dining experience. With enough notice, they can accommodate kosher and vegan options, ensuring that everyone can enjoy this remarkable dining experience. Overall, I highly recommend the Chef's Counter at Four to anyone looking for a unique and delicious dining experience. The food is amazing, the staff is friendly and knowledgeable, and the atmosphere is fun and lively. It's definitely a must-visit spot in Long Island.”
“A wonderful birthday dinner and so special to sit at Four! This restaurant is an intimate experience into the eyes of the kitchen where they work as a team creating some of the best food! The tasting we had was 17 courses all one bite and left feeling satisfied. Whether you are at 2 Spring or Four Spring you are getting top tier service and flavors. Every dish is curated with attention and detail along with hours of prep from a caring team of individuals.”
“The food was exceptional. The flavors were well balanced and everything was delicious. We had the wine pairing and they offered a selection of both classic and unique wines. The atmosphere was also pleasing. My only qualm would be my interaction with the chefs. When I go to these types of restaurants, the chefs are usually more interactive or there's at least one chef that matches what you want socially. I felt dismissed there. I asked about a beautiful presentation and was told not to worry about it because it wasn't supposed to be eaten and that it was dirt. It wasn't dirt. If I didn't want to interact with chefs, I'd save my time and money by eating at a conventional restaurant. Nevertheless, I didn't take off stars because I may be in the minority with my interaction preferences and Jared, our host and sommelier, was excellent. He could read the room that I wanted to interact, he answered my questions, and he match my enthusiasm for the experience. We'll likely return, but I'll manage my expectations when it comes to interacting with the chefs.”
“We had an incredible dinner at Four, to celebrate my wife’s birthday. We were both blown away by the creative menu. The complexity of each course was amazing! The staff was engaging and super attentive! We loved everything about the experience. My wife loved the plates & glasses, they were beautiful and showcased each course. Everything was well orchestrated. Expensive, but well worth the experience! Looking forward to another special occasion!”
