Settle in at Heartwood House, a bright and welcoming, Southern‑inspired restaurant featuring stained‑glass windows, handmade chandeliers, and classic dishes with creative twists. Located at the center of the property, much like the heartwood at the core of a tree, this approachable, barn‑inspired space is a place guests can return to time and time again. We serve breakfast with both an à la carte menu and a buffet. We operate on a first‑come, first‑served basis and do not accept reservations. For large‑party inquiries of 12 or more, please email AUSLP-outlet.managers@hyatt.com and we will be happy to assist you.
“Buffet looked great but we actually went with omelette and grits one day and grainbowl the other day. Both were excellent choices. Best part was Elliott who we asked for the second day as well. He was so personable and made the experience worthwhile!”
“Just had breakfast here the other day, food was good not great and the prices are a bit high. However our server Elliott was excellent and really made the breakfast enjoyable. Excellent service really goes a long way and he was a very friendly and accommodating server, 5 stars for Elliott!”
“I ate here during my stay at Lost Pines Resort, and overall I would say that the food is good but not superb. The buffet included various barbecue choices, a pretty nice salad bar, beans, mashed potatoes, cornbread, oysters, and shrimp. The brisket was flavorful when paired with the barbecue sauce, but it was a little too thick and chewy for my liking. The sausage was better; it was very hearty and filling. The mashed potatoes were light and fluffy, and the beans were also pretty flavorful. Though it wasn’t much different than most, I did enjoy my salad. After you finish your meal, there is a large desert table right in the middle of the buffet. From cheesecake to cookies, brownies, and parfaits, this table was packed with delectable treats that my mother enjoyed. The employees seemed happy to be at the Heartwood Cafe, and they proved to be very helpful and friendly. However, after paying for the buffet, which is about $40 per person, a 20% service charge was automatically added. This presumes that the service will be excellent; the service was great, but there shouldn’t be a 20% “pre-tip”. Overall, the food tasted great, there were a lot of different options, and the servers seemed to love their job.”
“We ate here for breakfast. Overall was fine…..very pricey and food was okay. Wait staff was EXCELLENT. People seemed to rave about the Buffet…..just was extraordinarily Expensive so we ordered à la carte.”
“Breakfast here was disappointing. I ordered the eggs Benedict, but the ham looked fake, the egg was hard-boiled instead of poached, and the dish was barely warm. My husband, ordered the avocado toast had the same issue with the egg—overcooked and lacking in flavor. Even the cappuccino was off, with cold milk foam. We shared our experience with the waiter, and the manager kindly comped our meal, which we appreciated. However, for a resort with premium prices, the food quality felt more like fast food—if not worse. This place could use a serious revamp.”
