COME VISIT A PLACE LIKE NO OTHER. Enjoy a chilled glass of sparkling honey wine at your own private outdoor table. Discover the extraordinary world of single-varietal meads with an expertly guided tasting flight. Amble our footpaths through pasture, meadow and row-crops and observe our honeybees actively harvesting flower nectar from our curated bee forage farmscape. We produce naturally sparkling varietal meads using the traditional French Méthode Champenoise. Our trademark Champagne-style of mead is light, dry, delicate, and refreshing, with subtle exotic aromas and flavors found only in the essence of honey. All reservations are for an hour and thirty minutes at one of our beautiful outside tables. Enjoy a tasting, bring a picnic, experience the essence of Point Reyes.
“We had such a great time at Heidrun Meadery. The mead and honey tasting is such a fun experience—the kids loved trying all the different honeys. Friendly staff, delicious drinks, and a relaxed, family-friendly vibe made it an easy place to spend some time. Watching the bees at work and meeting Winnie the dog was a fun bonus. Would definitely recommend if you’re in the area.”
“I recently had the joy of stopping in here on a rainy afternoon roadtrip with a dear friend. Over the course of the afternoon, we worked our way through Heidrun's Essential, Seasonal, and World tasting menus, along with the cheese sampler. Each mead was a delightful sensory experience with its own unique colour and flavour palate, and the overall lightness and crispness that comes from using the French Champenoise method is a refreshing change from usual mead production methods. I had a very hard time narrowing down my final purchases to two bottles (ie what I could legally bring back to Canada in my luggage). My final selects were Calfornia Buckwheat and California Orange Blossom. I will definitely be back for another visit the next time I'm in Cali.”
“If you're making a day trip out of Point Reyes National Preserve, I would recommend stopping by Heidrun Meadery on the way back! The property is welcoming and the atmosphere is very laid back. There's a ton of natural light and open air tables which gives the feeling of more space. My parter tried the both the Essential and the Seasonal tasting, with favorites being the Hawaiian Macadamia Nut and Oregon Raddish Blossom. Overall, it was a great place to kick back and relax after a long hike. If you found my review helpful, please follow my local guide profile to see my experiences with other destinations!”
“I'm a tour bus driver. I took a group of culinary students to this location. The grounds are packed with local flora and it's very colorful. Mead is wine made from honey and the people here have taken the quality of mead to the next level. If you want a tranquil location, this is the place. If you've never tasted mead wine, this should be the first place you taste it. Perfect place for a 'romantic date', just make sure you like to drive.”
“This is a beautiful spot that offers a unique product, but I don't think I will be coming back. I don't necessarily blame the employees working here but the policies around tastings were a bit ridiculous. We wanted to share a tasting and at first they refused to give us more than 1 glass for all 4 tastings, saying they "didn't want to do the dishes". I totally acknowledge it was a busy day and don't want to be wasteful, but using 4 glasses instead of 3 hardly seems like a big ask. Maybe buy more glasses for busy days like this?”
