The Ledson family has a long agricultural history in Sonoma County dating back to the 1860s. The legacy was built on long hours of hard work, always focusing on quality over quantity. You’ll learn firsthand about our vine-by-vine sustainable farming practices and no-holds-barred commitment to the highest level of winemaking resulting in highly coveted wines reflecting a sense of place. The winery, an architectural showpiece designed and built by Steve Ledson himself and known throughout the world as the ‘Castle,’ is nestled among acres of rolling vineyards with a backdrop of 100-year-old oak trees. Vine Pair called it, “One of the twelve most impressive wineries in the world” and the Boston Globe said, “This castle is a must see.” You can reserve a 'Private Tasting' in your own tasting suite, a 'Seated Tasting' or a 'Classic Tasting' at one of the meticulously designed tasting room bars. Or 'Reserve a Table' at the fireplace in our Parlor inside the Castle or a picnic table outside in our West Oak Grove where you can enjoy a bottle of wine of your choice. Private, Seated and Reserved Table experiences can be enhanced with cheese and charcuterie plates or other culinary delights from our Gourment Marketplace. The Gourmet Marketplace offers local and unique cheeses, meats, fresh sandwiches, salads and treats to create the perfect picnic lunch. “If you’re in the Santa Rosa area and looking for a great spot for a wine tasting, I highly recommend Ledson Winery in Kenwood. While the breathtaking mansion and meticulously manicured grounds set the stage, it’s the service that steals the show. The Ledson team is amazing. They promptly greeted us and diligently assisted our group as we browsed and sipped our way through the shop. Armed with crackers and cheese purchased from the shop, we sat down in a private room with Brandon Garcia who patiently walked us through a variety of wines. Hearing the history behind the mansion and winery and learning about each of the wines we were sipping made for a very enjoyable and memorable experience. “We had a wine tasting at Ledson Winery & Vineyards last weekend, and it was truly an amazing experience. Our host, a young gentleman named Grant, was incredibly friendly, welcoming, and positive. He made the entire tasting feel relaxed, engaging, and special. The wines were excellent, and everything was presented beautifully. We were seated on a private terrace on the second floor with a stunning view—it felt peaceful, elegant, and very exclusive. The winery itself is absolutely beautiful, with a charming castle-like atmosphere that makes the visit even more memorable. Overall, it was a wonderful experience from start to finish. Highly recommend for anyone looking to enjoy great wine, gorgeous scenery, and exceptional hospitality!”

“Beautiful little winery hidden just north of Sonoma. Looks like an old castle, with beautiful grounds and tons of grapes. Small little gift shop but friendly staff, yummy food, and addicting wine chocolate fudge sauce! (If only it wasn't $30...) conner was very polite and hospitable, and gave my dog some ham. Yes they are pup friendly!! Bring your dog. We dont drink but it appeared more of a classical, fancy elegant wine tasting for the older crowds. Worth the stop!”

“Ledson is a stunning winery that you honestly should visit. It’s can feel a little off the path but we are so glad we decided to make a last minute stop here. The grounds are stunning and the building is beautiful and feels very much like a castle. We really enjoyed the different tasting areas they had and they have this gorgeous outdoor area with a fountain facing the vineyards. There is plenty of parking here although I’m not sure if it’s the same during busy times. Ledson had some of the best wines that we tried during our entire Sonoma trip. They had excellent red wines that met several different styles and types and I don’t think there was a single one we disliked. Our server had a lot of information on the different wines we tried and even gave us some history on Ledson and how it all got started. I highly recommend you visit this winery!
