Let's get together and feel alright. The beach at five thousand feet.
“Good food and better prices. Bartender was professional and friendly. Highly recommend this local restaurant. Best place on south Gaylord by a mile. 🙂”
“I've been a regular at this place since I first moved to Denver over 20 years ago, back when it was still called Hemingways. The atmosphere is just a gem, a truly unique treat for the Wash Park neighborhood. It's cozy in winter with the fireplace in the front room. It's hopp'n during warmer seasons with the open concept of garage doors onto the side patio and the accordion doors in the front bar for all the fresh breezes. The tiki bar is fantastic for private parties and special occasions. But, that's just the layout. I love meeting friends there because it's reasonably priced, has a great happy hour, is central to downtown, and consistent with food as well as service. For someone who only eats chicken and seafood, that's another reason I enjoy this place and their oysters.”
“I'm still thinking about the delicious dinner we had last night. The presentation, quality, taste, and value are top notch! I had the swordfish and my partner had the salmon and we ordered garlic bread to make sure we ate every last bit of sauce. He's a professional chef and was also impressed. I'm a foodie with high standards and I can't wait to go back. The service was friendly, on point, and super welcoming. We sat by the window and enjoyed the scenery too. Not a bad seat in the whole place.”
“My husband and I went to Max’s yesterday for Mother’s Day. I just have to say this restaurant is the cutest, with awesome specials throughout the week! We tried the lobster Benedict, and it was my favorite dish. I wish they would offer this all the time, but it was just a special. The breakfast potatoes that came with this were the best I had ever had. Seriously consider making this a full time dish guys!!! We also ordered the shrimp and grits. I’m from Alabama, so I know this dish well. It was fabulous. My only complaint is the amount of broth with the lack of grits. More grits with less broth would be more favorable. We also tried the grilled calamari. It was good, but I don’t know that I’d order this again as it was not a dish for me. With that being said, we will be back to try more specials. The vibe of this restaurant is so on point. It feels like you’re stepping into old Florida!”
“The vibe is great. Lots of indoor seating, with outdoor seating as well. We came here for entrees and a couple drinks. The drinks were good. We had the Max Cioppino and the Grilled Swordfish. The cioppino was lacking flavor and tasted like a frozen seafood mix. The grilled swordfish was better, but still felt lackluster. The server seemed to be running around but it didn't seem that busy. I might return to try oysters and appetizers but I wouldn't recommend coming for entrees. Way too spendy for what you get.”
