“Great dinner, great atmosphere and great food. Tasting menu of 13 plates. Really good value for the quality ingredients that you get to taste. It was truly and incredible dinner. I will not spoil anything about the experience but it was worth coming. Although fine dining, it is also cosy and relaxed which is something I like, not feeling out of place.”
“★★★★★ A culinary experience that lingers long after. From the very first moment, Nakazu succeeds in creating a special atmosphere. The setting is small, intimate, and well-cared-for, ensuring that all attention is focused on the food and the experience. The staff radiates passion and guides the evening with expertise and genuine hospitality. The dishes were delicious, every single one of them. The quality of the ingredients is exceptionally high, and it is abundantly clear that the chef has fully mastered Japanese cuisine. Every plate testifies to craftsmanship, finesse, and respect for the product. The portions were also perfectly balanced: enough to leave feeling satisfied, without ever feeling heavy. The wine pairings were a nice added value and were carefully selected. The quality was excellent, although I felt the portions could have been just a little more generous. If I may offer one suggestion, the option to have a digestif after dinner would be a nice addition. It would give guests the chance to savor the moment a little longer and reflect on an already fantastic culinary experience. Nakazu offers a refined and authentic gastronomic journey that I recommend without a doubt to anyone who appreciates high-level Japanese cuisine.”
“I had an amazing experience at Nakazu! I couldn’t remember the last time I ate this well. Food was sublime and the service was top notch. Would absolutely recommend this to everyone who likes the Japanese and French kitchen.”
“Sublimely refined cuisine, every bite a taste sensation and a painting on your plate. The sake pairing was also a delight. We're fans 😋❤️😋”
“Found this restaurant slightly disappointing, but to be honest, I'm a bit spoiled. The first impression was good, a nice kitchen bar, and an intimite setting with just 12 people. However, after about an hour or so, sitting next to each other (not the most easy way to speak and connect with one another) and watching at the kitchen becomes less appealing. Especially since I was hoping to see some real action, instead of the kitchen staff simply putting the food on plates. But the knifes were there just for display and didn't get touched. The appetisers were very tasty and did set high expectations for the rest of the evening. And that's the problem, because none of the dishes really got back to that same level. It was good, but nothing really stood out. And as the evening advanced, the less Japanese it felt and the more French it tasted. Sure, names and lots of ingredients were Japanese, but that got lost a bit due to the French way of preparing it. The wine pairing (I had chosen for the Prestige version) wasn't worth the value, except for maybe the glass of Dom Perignon. But in many cases it felt I got leftovers from the previous night. Bottles were open and nearly empty, not the experience you want to set for a Prestige pairing. Definitely not worth the value. And then finally the service. The staff is very friendly, but you somehow feel the distance over the kitchen counter. There is no real connection. And at the end of the evening, when we were ready to go, we had to wait long before getting the bill due to only one person having to take care of the bill for all couples at the same time, while also needing to serve some digestives to others, and chatting to someone that popped in late in the evening.”
